sleight of hand
friday, march 6th, 2009
the nice thing about a bad dream is that you usually wake-up from it, sit on the side of the bed for a minute or two, go splash some water on your face, maybe have a smoke, and then go back to a more restful sleep. With the "new national nightmare" we're now having, it just doesn't end; in fact, it just gets worse by the day, week and month.
Not only is the B. Hussein Obama-Osama-Lama-Rama-Ding-Dong dirtbag spending $3.6 TRILLION and driving this nation into fiscal bankruptcy, he's got alarming plans afoot to disarm American Citizens, and he's also directly violating the US Constitution by giving the vote to non-qualified residents of DC, which is specifically prohibited by the US Constitution provisions for the District of Columbia, set-up over 200 years ago. And it doesn't stop there.
With only 42 days as a pathetic US Senator — the rest of his term was spent campaigning for POTUS — he is by far the absolute worst-prepared person ever to become a sitting US President. He's never run a company, balanced a budget or held a real job. What he's done so far, borders on criminal.
Shit-for-brains, Present Barry Hussein Obama-Osama-Lama-Rama-Ding-Dong (Nigga-IL) is a one-worlder socialist and Marxist, whose massive welfare state policy will make it easier to control Americans in all walks and classes of society. When they're controlled by his "faux-monetary policy-opiate", American sovereignty will be easier to turn over to the UN, for full, final and complete control. His socialized medicine will destroy the finest health care system in the world. Health care is mot a right; it is an option.
Millions of very "confused" (aka idiots) Americans actually think that Obama is giving them a "Tax Cut". In reality, those are *TAX CREDITS* and will have to be reported as "unearned income", in 2010. The IRS hasn't changed the tax tables to allow for that money. Check with your CPA, and if s/he's astute and truthful, s/he'll tell you that's what it really is. If your CPA neglects to tell you that fact, get a new CPA.
America is slowly becoming a *socialist country*, thanks to the complicity of the treasonous liberal-demokkkRAT filth, and 60%+ of Americans demand and accept that sickening premise. IMO, 60%+ of today' Americans, 100% of all of voted for Obama-Biden) are seriously mentally-ill and irrationally-endorse "Trickle-Up Poverty".
All of this is going on behind closed doors, under the cover of night, with sleight of hand hiding it from the American People. Some of us see it and speak out; 90% don't do either. And we're all going to pay the price.
Around The Garden Center.™
Friday was another day to get some of the LSCP site-visits done, which have been piling-up on my clipboard since January. I've sent 97.886% of them to James, my LSCP Designer, and he's handled them: he'll professionally follow through with them, bringing them in to LSCP jobs for my crews to complete. But every-so-often, I need to get out and do a couple site-visits myself, just to regain a "foothold in reality", as I used to do for the years before I had corporate LSCP designers. But sometimes I keep a couple of "small ones" for my own on-site visits, just to get myself out of the office and break-up the daily monotony of paperwork and unending computer time. The ones currently piling-up, are for "tree transplants", which must be done over the Winter months (in dormancy), and a couple of Jap Maple pruning jobs, also to be done when leaves are off the small trees.
To make your typefaces crystal clear on your screen, do this simple trick: go to, control panel > display > appearance tab > effects > clear type > ok > apply > ok. Do you notice anything "different" in your documents? Sure you do, unless you already had it turned-on, already. If you did, BRAVO!
It was 59°F on Friday, when the rains and t-storms arrived around noon, and it *smelled very much like Spring* outside, so I donned my rain gear and took a walk around the property. Mmmmmmmm, it smelled fresh and good. I consciously-wished April was here, as I could see Crocus, Daffodils, Snowdrops and Tulips just *poking-up through the mulch* and dry Winter soil, around Pickle's grave and throughout the Display Gardens. Several customers stopped-by to talk about landscape jobs, tree installations and just general chat about politics, the economy, firearms, and out upcoming 19th Annual Open House. I also had 8-10 phone calls on Friday, on various topics.
I'm continuing to watch all 23 episodes of "Jericho", on www.YouTube.com, and enjoying every minute of it. Next, I think I'll try to get caught-up on this season's "24" shows, since I've missed several of them, and then also watch what's available for "Babylon 5", another of my old favorites.
At 7:37pm, I was working on some Win-XP Tweaks, and a *Special Weather Statement-Weather Alert* came across my Weather Channel app, via the icon in the WIN-XP Pro tray, warning of "heavy thunderstorms, 40-75mph winds, hail, sleet, snow", and it was rapidly-moving, west-to-east, to York County. Yikes! Even at 57°F, I closed my condo's windows and screen/storm doors, to prepare for its arrival. I kept an assiduous watch on the Doppler Radar as it approached. BANG! It hit us (in York) around 8:20pm. 56°F and it was all rain; no hail, sleet, freezing rain or snow. 99% of the storm system had already passed-by (via a northwest track) us, and was headed-up-to the northeast. Oh well. It was quick and mild; certainly not as bad "as advertised". I "called it a night", at 11pm, and *crashed*.
The *Winter Storm Watch* were posted Saturday morning on the weather sites, around 10am and at that point, because of so many "false alarms" over this meager Winter, I hardly even noticed. The precipitation we'd gotten in all those other "near hits", was minor and not worth thinking about. Besides, I had new customers in the store, and was more interested in bringing that work in for James to design and my crews to install, James and his 4-year old daughter, Madison, stopped by, just-in-time to have hot dogs for lunch with me, and I passed-on the customer information to him. And he dropped-off a couple of new job folders for me to work on. She's always such a delight to have around. I spent the rest of the day updating forms, handouts etc for this season. Today's the last day of February, already.
I was up at 5:45am Sunday, to water and feed the cats, and noticed that we'd gotten ½" of snow during the night, and that TWC's "Weather Bug" was blinking orange in my tray • *Winter Storm Watch* • and it was predicting a pretty good N'orEaster coming up the coast and dumping quite a bit on us. I decided to go food shopping and go into the office to check the main building and water pipes, just in case we got hammered and I couldn't get in on Monday. A *Winter Storm Warning* was up when I got back.
I picked-up a 7lb Angus chuck roast, onions, carrots, celery and potatoes to make a Pot Roast w/ Vegetables, to enjoy this week, at both work and home. I used a bay leaf, capers and juniper berries in my last one; I skipped those ingredients this time, and try it without. The Weis Market's computer system went down just as I entered the checkout line, and had exactly $49.00 with me, the bill was $49.06 and the checkout girl loaned me 6¢ to complete my purchase. I promised her I'd be in next Sunday morning to repay her. About 9 other customers also got stranded waiting for the system to reboot and come back up. Memo to self: carry more cash.
By 5:30am Monday morning, the Nor'easter Snowstorm had been downgraded to a *Winter Weather Advisory*, since much of the main storm had missed us completely, or so it looked: no snow on the ground. It began snowing hard around 6:30am and by 8:15am, I decided to stay inside and ride-it-out. At 18°F, and with a 30-40mph wind, the blowing and drifting was prolific and the windchill was -4°F. I followed the www.wgal.com traffic reports of many, many accidents on the interstates and main roads, and decided to wait until the county and township snowplows were finished. My security company called at 10am to tell me that all power had been lost at the GC&N Complex, so even if I had gone down to plow and shovel the place out, there'd be no heat in the main building. My email server went down around 8am, and came back at 12:30. The snow quit around 12noon, but the blowing and drifting went on for most of the afternoon. I stayed inside all-day, lit a fire and curled-up with the cats on the couch in front of the fireplace and slept for a couple of hours. The condo complex maintenance company, came and plowed us out at 3pm. Final tally: 6-8" of fluffy stuff. Okay, The Glenn Beck Show on FoxNewsTV at 5pm, The Savage Nation at 6pm on WSBA910-streaming, and to sleep by 9pm. I've got to get into work early, and get the plowing and shovellng done, even though it'll be 39-42°F on Wednesday, and all of the new snow will have melted. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
As a devotee & fan of "24" for the past 6 seasons, I've noticed that this season #7 is a little "too green and sadly-reserved", and that it sucks. Oh, yeah! Jack's compadres in the series are all-out wimps, cowards and "crappolites" (I claim new noun!), and he's also "changed/morphed" into something I don't recognize, anymore. Sad, but true. In this "White House Siege" Episode, Jack & Co should have put the African Nigga Terrorists down/dead/killed them in a heartbeat/bloodbath! All bad guys dead! Instead, there's a woman president and she's surrounded by male wimps, and all are afraid of torture and killing terrorists.
It was 8°F/ -4°F windchill, when I got up on Tuesday morning, and remembered that I had an unknown amount of snow to plow. Crap. I emailed Lee to see if he and his '89 Cherokee w/ 7ft plow was at-the-ready, and I called Arthur to see if he was dug-out yet and ready to shovel steps, walks and GHs. Okay, checklist: boots, 2-pr gloves, scarf, heavy parka, sock cap; shovels and equipment is at the Complex... we met at 10am had the place cleared by 11:45. Lee and I left for lunch; Arthur wanted to stay and work, even though I invited him and the lunch tab was my treat. (sigh) I'd finally got the frozen pipes in the Pump House and WG feeder-hose unfrozen, by 2pm. All in all, a (mostly) good day. I didn't get any of LSCP site visits done, but I will on either Wednesday or Thursday. Damn, I spoke too soon about it being a "good day". A customer with a $8k LSCP job called-in to cancel it; his finances are not going to allow it this year. I expect more of this scenario to happen, as the year progresses. Crap, I don't like this one darned bit.
On Wednesday, the temp changed dramatically from a high of 16°F to 38°F, and bone-chilling windchills. With (thankfully) no broken pipes, and a now-repaired heater functioning justfineanddandy, I settled-in to work on some estimates James had sent me, as well as go out on some snow-delayed site visits. The lSCP estimates were completed and mailed on Wednesday, and I did the site visits on Thursday. The mfgr reps' calls are increasing exponentially — a sure sign that Spring is just around the corner — for plant material growers, terra cotta & glazed pots, new and old mulches, various soil mixtures, automated potting equipment, greenhouses, employee insurance programs, OSHA materials, truck leasing programs, gov't loan programs, birdhouses, pens and trinkets etc. The 19th Open House on Sat, April 18th is getting closer and closer. I made changes in the ad copy, Bobbi remade the pdf files, which I approved, and sent the files to the newspapers. I also decided that we're going to give a 19% discount to all OH attendees (a first), increased the 5% discount to seniors, to 15% (another first) and fielded 25-30 phone calls. I started 5 or 6 projects, but got none of them completed due to the volume of interruptions, all day long. Jennifer was in to water some of the GHs. Last week, I'd scrubbed the office's b-room sink within an inch of its life, and also cleaned he toilet, but little did I know that Jennifer had already cleaned the toilet bowl, which I did a second time and then the rest of the "porcelain throne's" porcelain. Heh. I figured that out on Monday; okay, so I'm a "slow-learner" and it came clean so quickly since she'd gotten the worst of the red-clay stains out with the Comet® cleanser. My right hand is finally healing from that "Chlorinol" it contains. That stuff ate layers of skin off my hand. Ack! By Thursday, it was growing back. Next time, I wear rubber gloves. Big duh.
Behind the mini-blizzard and bitter cold temps, warmer weather arrived and even though I griped about not getting much snow this season, I was glad to see it melt. After just 2 days, it was already turning black from all the road dust and cinders, and we need to see an increase in the ground's moisture level. With the advent of 40°F days, the sap is now running in the maples, cherries, apples and in most trees, for that matter. "Sapping" will begin this week in Vermont and other states where it's been a tradition and a livelihood for the past 350+ years. With the coming weekend temps predicted to be in the upper-60s and lower-70s, the sap's going to start running in a lot of plants. But knowing weather and the month of March as I do, Winter isn't over by a long shot. Trust me on that one.
Things Which Make Your Head Explode.™
Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world is more than 2 TRILLION barrels. Intrigued? Read this article. Are we saving it for a time when the rest of the world runs out of oil?
Criminal, dirtbag, lowlife scumbag Bernie Madoff, wants to keep his $7 Million penthouse and his $62 Million bank accounts, all in his corrupt, criminal bitch-wife's name? F•ck that shit; take it all; give it to the people he intentionally fucked, and make him and his bitch-wife live in the YWCA, at market-rent prices, using a common bathroom, with 200 other people! He and his stinking, complicit, criminal bitch-wife, need to be put into abject poverty in dingy, filthy 12ft x 20ft rooms, clean toilets and showers daily, before they use them, and make them SUFFER, dammit! F•ck the Madoff filth/shit/trash/garbage/filth/crap! F•CK MADOFF!
Lowlife, liberal-demokkkRAT Trash.®
I hate and despise lowlife, dirtbag, corrupt scum politicians like US Sen Chris Dodd (CRIMINAL-CT). Like his corrupt, criminal and US Senate-censured father before him, he should be subject to full DoJ investigation, charges, trial, conviction, sentencing and summary execution, IMO. Read what Kevin Rennie, reporter for the Hartford-Courant, found out about Chris Dodd. The "apple doesn't fall far from the tree", does it?
9,000 "earmarks" in a $410 BILLION dollar US Congress bill? Why am I surprised? I'm not; I'm just stunned and my eyes are glazing-over, once again. Business-as-usual. Who'd have guessed that liberal-demokkkRAT, Present Barry Hussein Obama-Osama-Lama-Rama-Ding-Dong (Nigga-IL a f•cking liberal-demokkkRAT liar, as we all knew he would be. Obama's lying sambo, muslim dogshit!
$140 million for "volcano monitoring"? Gimme a break! I can do better, for 2/3 that amount! (heh).
And now America has another bigoted, liberal-demokkkRAT, racist, lowlife, mulatto scumbag Nigga, Attorney General Eric Holder. Another? Yes, Present Barry Hussein Obama-Osama-Lama-Rama-Ding-Dong (Nigga-IL), is The Racist-In-Chief, in case you don't know. But I think you already know that. What a shame about both of them.
Some People Just Need Killing.™
It's not my intention to be the judge here — that's God's "job" — but rather to "hasten the meeting" so that He can send the following subhuman filth to the "Fires of Hell", "River or Lake of Sulphur", or whatever He deems appropriate. I'd gladly/happily volunteer, at no cost to any of my Hard-Working, Fellow US Taxpayers, to gladly/gleefully/happily headshoot these murderous, lowlife dirtbags of all stripes — their skin-color doesn't matter to me, at all — and rid American Society's innocents (especially our precious children and the frail, defenseless elderly) of them, once-and-for-all. And yes, I'd rather see one innocent man convicted and executed, than 10 murderers/robbers/child rapists-murderers freed, to rob, rape and murder again. Hey; call me an "Old Fashioned Conservative"! Too harsh? Nah.
Nope, no-way, no-how, not-a-chance. These subhuman, murderous filth are NIGGERS; they're not black men! They need summary head-shooting in the worst way, NOT prison sentences, dammit. Just as the KKK was subhuman WHITE TRASH, and not whites, Drake Primus, 38, of Newark, Eugene Dix, 42, of Paterson, and William Manigo, 39, of Paterson, cut a man's throat which needed 40+ stitches to close-up, for money for drugs. Shoot them all and throw their stinking, rotting corpses into a dumpster. None of the three subhuman filth deserve any further life and waste of oxygen, nor a proper burial, IMO. Kill them! Rid society of their presence. Societal menace ended.
The Tax History Project.
Tax Analysts — a non-profit, non-partisan organization for the open discussion of tax policy — has created this exploration of American tax history as a resource for scholars and citizens. Wander through the fact-filled chambers of the Tax History Museum or browse the cartoon archive. Turns-out that tax humor is as inevitable and enduring as taxes themselves. Don't miss a peak at the presidential tax returns from Bill Clinton, George Bush, Ronald Reagan, Franklin Roosevelt, and others. Talk about tax tips from the pros. Sheesh; what a deal!
