take a knee, treasonous lowlife

think about how often you misplace regular, everyday items — your cellphone, keys, money, sunglasses. Annoying, right? Yet we all do it. (On Seinfeld, the gang even misplaced Kramer’s car in a parking garage!) If you’re like me, at some point you’ve probably wondered why you mislay things in the first place. I mean, it was just in your hand a second ago. Why can’t you find it?

Think about how often you misplace regular, everyday items – your cellphone, keys, money, sunglasses.

The Rumor: We misplace things because we’re distracted Life can get pretty hectic. Between juggling chores at home, completing a million tasks at work, and squeezing in some downtime with friends… well, a few things are bound to fall through the cracks, and there’s little we can do to change that.

Searching for misplaced items can be frustrating and time-consuming, though we mostly just accept it as par for the course. And it’s OK when it only happens now and then. But have there ever been times in your life when you seem to be misplacing things constantly? What’s that about?

The Verdict: Constantly misplacing items is a warning sign that we’re mentally overloaded The simple truth is that the human brain is just not built for multitasking – but that certainly doesn’t stop us from trying, especially when faced with the relentless demands of a modern lifestyle. If you’ve been misplacing things a lot lately, it could indicate that you’re trying to do more than your brain can cope with and may need to start making some changes to your schedule (i.e., cutting things out).

“A lot of times we’re just not being mindful,” observes Andrea Bonior, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and author of "The Friendship Fix". “While we’re setting down our keys somewhere we’re already thinking of something else entirely, and we’re not really "in the moment". There’s an old memory adage that goes: “If you don’t encode, you can’t retrieve.” In other words, if you don’t pay attention and consciously think about something, your brain won’t record it – and you won’t be able to remember it later. So when it comes to remembering where you left your keys, there’s really no way you can do it, because you weren’t focusing when you put them down in the first place.

That said, some people are a little more absentminded than others, and more prone to forgetting things even when they think they’ve “encoded” them. “It happens more with creatively [minded] people,” says psychotherapist Steven Berglas, Ph.D., author of "Your Own Worst Enemy: Understanding the Paradox of Self-Defeating Behavior". “They don’t have that same rigidity in the way they [do things].”

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

A Day In The Life.

All in all, Friday was a good day: Sweet Sherry came to visit for a while, I got an over payment check ($157) from the State of PA for capital gains, Stetler Jeep changed my oil at N/C, I had an Allen Bros Filet Mignon and I fell asleep on the couch (well, that wasn't so good).

I got a call from Becky at 7:30a on Saturday to be at her condo ASAP, so she and Dad could purchase a stove/oven, dishwasher, and 'fridge for the new place, and get them them delivered and installed next week. I was to look out for a woodworker tradesman who'd make some repairs on the 2nd floor banister. He never showed, so Becky can deal with that next week. My cracked left ribs and shredded right arm, hurt like hell, but no pills while operating a vehicle.

I got all my 1-gal, 2-gal & 3-gal perennials, fed and watered-them-in at SKH, a nearby local garden center &, since I now have a full sun garden; it's changed every year over the 27-years as the landscape and arborist idiots have made a real mess of things.

Undoing that undying mess is a bright ray of Conservative Sunshine, called Chris Plante on WMAL 109.5FM, from 9a-12p, just before the Blowhard Limbaugh fouls the airwaves with his 3hrs of bullshit, pomposity, lies, crap and trash. I despise, hate and loathe lowlife piece of shit, Limbaugh. After 27yrs, he's a hemorrhoid of the rectum of life. Laura Ingram isn't near as bad as Limbaugh, but she's got a l-o-n-g was to got to catch-up with Chris Plante & Co.

If you can't get Chris live from 9a-12p (in DC), jump into his many daily podcasts (637) from 12p-3pm. Here's a short bio bit, detailing his family's long-time involvement in the national news and how Chris woke-up one day and went rogue on all of them, yet maintains friendly, and cordial relations with them, mostly.

I watched some CATV, crashed around 10:20p and was back-up by 6:30, to get the day started. I met Chris and "his best girl" at a "Politics and a Pint" for steaks and, many years ago when Dole was running for president. (90s)

I was up at 6a on Sunday, drove to Becky's & Dad's to help get the 'fridge, bathrooms emptied-out and moved to the new condo, so that it could all be done by tomorrow. They're already been to Heidelbnaugh's Appliances to pick-out stock. 100% of the work is falling on Becky, which while I helped as much as I could. Considering my recent injuries and ongoing physical condition, I could only do so much without hurting myself badly, and I'm hurting badly enough now as it is, thankyouverymuch.

Right now, I have 17 Rx bottles and 4 OTC bottles on my kitchen counter, all prescribed and or recommended by Wellspan Hill York Hospital, Wellspan Apple Hill Medical Center or a Wellspan specific doctor. Just $19,788 in medication costs alone for 2017 taxes.

On Tuesday the 1st, I got an Ultra-Sound/ Abdomen done at Wellspan Apple Hill Medical Center, so a new WellSpaan Surgeon can have a look at my Gall Bladder; and, on Wednesday 2nd, I have to get a CT-Scan/ Chest & Abdomen done, so the same new Dr can compare films for Gall Bladder stones. I went to sleep much earlier on both nights. I should get the results back for Tuesday's test, on Wednesday. Wednesday's test results, back on Thursday, and have an office app't with the ordering Dr, WellSpan-Leader Surgical Associates, on Monday 7th at Apple Hill Medical Center. There's been no R/S or stomach pain since Saturday, April 14th.
