barack Obama has trampled the Constitution both literally and figuratively. He is the closest thing to a dictator of the United States we’ve seen in a very long time. President McStompyfeet has a hissy fit every time Congress doesn’t obey him exactly as he demands and he then sets off on an uncharted course, bending every conceivable law to its limit to satiate his wants.
Congress isn’t jumping to act immediately following the Oregon shooting of nine white people by a black man and so it’s Executive Action for our Chavez/Maduro wannabe.
In response to the latest mass shooting during his presidency, President Obama is seriously considering circumventing Congress with his executive authority and imposing new background-check requirements for buyers who purchase weapons from high-volume gun dealers.
Under the proposed rule change, dealers who exceed a certain number of sales each year would be required to obtain a license from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and perform background checks on potential buyers.
As the president heads to Roseburg, Ore., on Friday to comfort the survivors and families of those killed in last week’s mass shooting at Umpqua Community College, the political calculus around his most vexing domestic policy issue is shifting once again.
Barack Chavez has only until January 2017 to inflict more of his version of social justice on this country and he’s got a lot of work in front of him.
Now Hitlary Hillary Clinton wants in on the action. Clinton already thinks herself better than anyone and truly believes rules are not for her. Fortunately, people are beginning to see it.

She’s got her party behind her on that and the mechanics of using a voter mandate to implement the rest of her agenda. 
So the left is all fired up for a dictator President. Thing is – what if a Republican wins? Will they be so enthusiastic about a strong conservative agenda powered by Executive Actions?

Clinton shows that her principles are firmly planted in jello when she turns against the TPP after publicly supporting it 45 times. She has referred to the TPP as one of her “achievements” as SoS. Her words mean absolutely nothing, just as Obama’s do. Her email scandal proves that the rules don’t apply to her.
George Bush wanted to reform social security but dropped the notion when he could not get bipartisan support. democrats have killed the notion of bipartisanship. Killed it and buried it. They’ve served notice that that is not about to change. Clinton is not running for President. She’s running for dictator.
A benevolent dictator is a still a dictator. The fruits of dictatorship are available for all to see in Venezuela.

A Day In The Life
Awakened by the garbage trucks picking-up curbside on Friday morning at 8, I was glad to feel no back/hip pain. I took some aspirin anyway, made OJ, coffee and checked the weather and news. 57°F and cloudy, the forecast was for t-storms and serious rain hitting the area by late afternoon. I left for some errands and a visit to Dad's, at 9:30. Another typical, early Fall day, light traffic was light despite being Friday, I got some of the stops done in good time and arrived at Dad's by 10:15. The cleaning ladies were there, and despite all the noise and commotion, I got some projects done for Dad, had a nice visit and he was doing fine after the laser eye surgery yesterday. After the evening news, I watched a 1hr recap of "Gold Rush" last season, and a sneak peek of next season, starting tonite at 9pm on Discovery. After that, "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives" until 1:15am, shut down, armed the place and called it a day.
I slept-in until 9:30 on Saturday morning, a beautiful and very chilly 46°F morning. I made OJ, coffee and Eggs Benedict w/ Ham Steak & Homefries, scanned the weather, news and local stations for the Saturday Morning Gardening programs. Forgetting more horticulture than those dimwit "hosts" will ever know, I find myself yelling at their wrong, idiotic and incomplete answers to their unknowing call-in audience. So I don't listen often. Apart from writing technical articles for hort industry/trade magazines, I was often on local shows, in a guest spot capacity, and "gently" corrected the hosts on many points and theories of gardening, plant propagation, composting, propagation, marketing, landscape contracting etc. I switched over to listening to the week's missed Chris Plante Show podcasts, while delving into the morning news online. I left at 11:15 to make stops at the cleaners, bank and post office, a new pizza place to get a menu, and just drive past the nearby malls and shopping centers. They were all having the usual "Pre-Columbus Day Sales" and traffic was heavy, so I avoided them. Back by
Awake at 6:30 on Sunday morning, a sunny and nippy 41°F, I tried to get back to sleep, but something was spinning around in my head. A day or so ago, I'd read that Turkey shot down a Russian fighter over its territory, and almost right away, the US had pulled the last carrier out of the ME. I also found this article about the shootdown. I can't find validation anywhere else, and that's what was bothering me: no corroboration of a possible world-bending WWIII incident. I made OJ and coffee, fired-up the computer to see if there were any residual problems from last evening's MS-Update near-meltdown. Okay so far, except email is MIA again. It's been several weeks since I did a full system back-up and set a restore point, so I'll do that when I leave for Stewartstown around 9am tomorrow, and then drive back up to visit Dad and the return trip.
After a load of laundry, I drove over to Lancaster to visit one of my firearms/cars/cycles investment friends, to talk about an upcoming estate sale he wants the four of us to get into. I'm willing to go, but just not get involved in $50-100,000+ deals, for which I'm no longer financially able to take the risk, as I did in previous years. After losing nearly $1.2mm, there's well over $500k still tied-up in the old GC&N Complex Property, and until that's resolved, I'm only a small player. Up at 6:30am on Monday, it was downright cool outside: 39°F outside and really feeling like late Fall. I fired-up the furnace for 20-30mins to take the chill off the condo, made OJ and coffee, and checked the weather and news sites. Email was back for a little while. After making-up a quick food list, and setting-off the computer's full system back-up, I left at 9:30, for Southern York County taking Rt-24 South. Much of the corn and soybeans are either dried and ready for harvest, or have already been taken down. Lots of combines, balers, threshers and transport trucks getting it done. Fields full of dust from the machines reaping the harvest. Wheat cover crops are peeking thru when sunlight and warmth has germinated the seed, planted long before the harvest. I had one Rx ready at Rite Aid, and went next door to Saubel's Market to get my list filled and some things for Dad. Becky does her own shopping, except when she has knee operations and it falls on me, so I had nothing to get for her. The ride back was uneventful, even on I-83 North, and holiday traffic was light. I drove up 83 North to Dad's exit, took his groceries in and put them away, and we worked on his laptop's Quicken program to get some checks written on his local bank online accounts. I need to bring that lapper home for 1-2 days, offload his many apps' data, not used in years, on to a flashdrive, uninstall a pile of programs he doesn't use anymore, defrag the drive, optimize it, clean-out the registry of useless code, and try to 'detox/rehab' that unit. Or, I'll just transfer a ghost image of his laptop to my 2014 HP laptop, and give it to him. His 2009 HP has really slowed down, and it's scary; it's tired from carrying so much (now) unnecessary 'stuff', which bogs it down, that anything I do will be noticeable.
I made lunch for us, we talked about a number of things, and I was back home by 2:30pm. Temps were up to 73°F – a veritable heat wave – but cool-to-cold air would be arriving by Thursday and stay thru next week. And it was already dropping into the 60s. As the days get shorter, combined with the past few months' moderate drought, temps will never get back to their Summer levels, so leaves are turning and dropping, and my front yard is buried in 5" of Pin Oak leaves. The lawnmower crews will deal with that tomorrow. I had paperwork to do, and spent the rest of the afternoon on it. By 7, it was dark, and I turned on the evening news. Blech. I switched over to "Fast 'n Loud" for the season's finale, and then to "Rusted Development", one of the best on in the car génré, and my personal favorite, with "Mobsteel" a close second. I closed down at midnight, armed the place and called it a day.
Sleeping-in until almost 9am on Tuesday, I made OJ, coffee and listened to the usual 9am-12noon EST streaming Chris Plante Show, WMAL-DC. Cloudy, 51°F and rain approaching, I made a nice Stack of French Toast, and checked the weather and news.
Looks like the Northeast and Upper Midwest might get some early snow showers over the weekend; definitely more proof of "global warming", as the leftist-eco-wackos call it. No, you destructive, lying, ignorant, hate-filled, leftist assholes, it's "the weather". And that settles it, folks.

By 11:30pm, I was yawning so hard, that my ears were popping, so I shut down, armed the place and went up for some sleep. Cleaning ladies are here at 8:30am, and I have places to go.
The alarm went-off at 6 on Wednesday morning, 49°F and a sunny day on-tap. After some OJ and coffee, I checked the weather and news sites; email was actually working, and my realtor sent a note that she'd call around 10am with an offer from one of the two clients who went thru 2 weeks ago. I had some errands to do, so I left just as the cleaners arrived. After stops at the bank, to order more checks, and at the cleaners, I stopped-by Dad's and got the call from the realtor on the potential buyer's offer: a 6 month lease with buyout in April for a heavy equipment operator from Parkton, MD. I thought and talked about it for 15 mins with the realtors, Karen and Brian, but turned it down. Too many downsides for me. It must be a straight cash buyout. I'm not going to contract on that offer, so I'll wait until he makes another, more acceptable offer. Plus, there's another showing next week. Disappointing, but I don't want to be a landlord, in any sense of the word.
I helped Dad with a few projects, and somehow I screwed-up his Windows Update feature, so I'll have to bring it back to my place to work on it, or if I can't get it fixed/worked on, take it to Spartan Computers in East York. By 1:30pm, I was back home and made a Sliced Steak Sandwich w/ Onions, Fries and Roasted Potatoes, and worked on the "Prep-shelves" inventory in the basement. By 6:30pm, the all-day "American Pickers" marathon was on, as well as some new episodes, so I watched until 12:30am, and then bagged it for the night.
Up at 7:30am on Thursday, I grabbed the über-warm Turkish Bathrobe, fired-up the furnace on a chilly 50°F morning. Friday starts a new week here in the "Journal" and with several appointments, a couple of meetings and some pre-Winter maintenance work at the Old GC&N Complex, I have a moderately busy week ahead. There's also another realtor showing of the GC&N Complex, so I might need to be involved in it.
Conundrum.
The very definition of the word conundrum is "something that is puzzling or confusing". Here are six conundrums today, in the US:
1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.
2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.
3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.
4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.
5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.
6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.
Think about it. That pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st century. Kind of makes you wonder who is doing the math.
These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:
1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works. And here's another one worth considering...
2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't. Think about it. And last but not least...
3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to all illegal aliens?

"Last week, President Barack Obama delivered some telling remarks to a fire station full of people in Roanoke, Virginia. I'll save you the trouble of reading the (long and uninspired) speech and provide you with the most interesting part:
"If you've got a business – you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen." – President Barack Obama, July 13th, 2012.
It would be easy to respond with something along the lines of, "Somebody else made that happen? Who? Who magically imagined the product or service, started the business, built it up, and created the jobs? Who was it? The tooth fairy?" And to some extent, President Obama's statement is so ridiculous as to merit that sort of quick, flippant response.

However, he's not entirely wrong. This reminds me of an argument that Massachusetts Senate Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren would probably make. If he's talking about a mid-sized or large business, where an entrepreneur has hired additional employees, then at that point the business's success isn't purely that of its founder.
Employees add value to a business through work and ideas. That's why you hire employees, after all. Steve Jobs didn't invent every last detail of the phones, computers, and tablets to come out of Apple over the last decade. There were engineers working on those products who developed them. So, employees help entrepreneurs to build their business. "Somebody else" did indeed play a part in making that happen.
But what makes the president's remarks so inane is the totality of what he's saying. He's not saying that entrepreneurs and employees work together to build a business. It's not a collaborative effort. It's all thanks to the employees. Usually, I can understand the way the president's mind works on most issues by examining it through a pragmatic, liberal, or progressive framework. This one baffles me.
As I explained, I can see that he has some of a point, but he's still just obviously wrong on the broader point. Sure, the employees help to build the business, but the business itself wouldn't exist without the entrepreneur. So, to say to entrepreneurs and to business owners, "...you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen," is just wrong. It's silly. They did build that by setting the foundation for the business.
Entrepreneurs are almost always the hardest workers in their business. They work a simply insane number of hours to get their idea off the ground. If they succeed (and they face a tremendous risk if they don't), then they'll start to grow and to hire employees to help. Honestly, if I were an entrepreneur and I read those remarks by the president, I would be furious. It's a tremendous insult to the true job-creators in America, entrepreneurs.
In the context of a long, somewhat rambling campaign speech that touched on every issue under the sun, it may seem as though I'm over-exaggerating the importance of a minor thing he said. But President Obama isn't a stupid man, or even one who makes off-the-cuff remarks he doesn't really mean. He's a very smart man, and he meant what he said.
When the most important issues for most Americans are economic growth and job creation, I believe it's essential to know exactly where both candidates stand on the importance of entrepreneurs.
