Okay, I've had enough of cloudy, rainy and cold days, for a while. Can someone bring back the nice, mild Fall weather? Our undeclared drought emergency is over, ground moisture has returned in spades, and I'm ready for some real Fall weather. Well, the nice weather returned on Saturday, lasted through the week, and we dried-out from all the previous week's rain. The cool, wet weather has brought many hesitant customers back into the market for landscaping, trees and shrubs, and business has picked-up quite noticeably. I'm a happy camper, once again.
Oh, crap; what a waste. Yikes! Reason #2 why I don't have any tattoos.
In 3-4 weeks, depending upon the rapidly-approaching, Winter weather, I will close on Sundays, and revert to Winter Hours — Mon-Sat, 10-3; Sun, Closed — and once again enjoy my time off. I won't be going in, on Sundays, to do paperwork, feed and play with Pickle, as I used to do, since he's gone, though I'll terribly miss that special part of Sundays during the Winter, as I have everyday since he died.
Gas prices at the pump, are dropping in the York (PA) area, with Unleaded Regular at $2.65/gal, Unleaded Plus at $2.75/gal, and Unleaded Premium at $2.95/gal. York is higher than Lancaster, Adams and Dauphin Counties, surrounding it. Dunno why. But lots of Maryland cars are still travelling here to fill-up, as has been the case for the past year. I'm bracing for a 50% increase in my condo's natural gas bills, this Winter. As I said last week, I'll be shutting down my 50' x 100' Main Retail Greenhouse and 30' x 100' GH-#1 (Potting House), to save $6,000-7,000/ month on LPG (liquid propane gas) bills, in my 3 x 1,000gal tanks. To that end, I've put all houseplants on a 50% OFF, just to clear the tropicals out the Main Retail Greenhouse and GH-#1.
