the 2012 election has often been described as the most pivotal since 1860. This statement is not hyperbole. If Barack Obama is re-elected the United States will never be the same, nor will it be able to re-capture its once lofty status as the most dominant nation in the history of mankind.
The overwhelming majority of Americans do not understand that Obama's first term was dedicated to putting in place executive power to enable him and the administration to fulfill the campaign promise of "transforming America" in his second term regardless of which political party controls Congress. That is why his re-election team is virtually ignoring the plight of incumbent or prospective Democratic Party office holders.
The most significant accomplishment of Obama's first term is to make Congress irrelevant. Under the myopic and blindly loyal leadership of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, the Democrats have succeeded in creating an imperial and, in a second term, a potential dictatorial presidency.

The birth of multi-thousand page laws was not an aberration. This tactic was adopted so the bureaucracy controlled by Obama appointees would have sole discretion in interpreting vaguely written laws and enforcing thousands of pages of regulations they and not Congress would subsequently write.
For example, in the 2,700 pages of ObamaCare there are more than 2,500 references to the Secretary of Health and Human Services. There are more than 700 instances when he or she is instructed that they "shall" do something and more than 200 times when they "may" take at their sole discretion some form of regulatory action. On 139 occasions, the law mentions that the "Secretary determines". In essence one person, appointed by and reporting to the president, will be in charge of the health care of 310 million Americans once ObamaCare is fully operational in 2014.
The same is true in the 2,319 pages of the Dodd-Frank Financial Reform Act which confers nearly unlimited power on various agencies to control by fiat the nation's financial, banking and

Additionally, the Obama administration has, through its unilaterally determined rule making and regulatory powers, created laws out of whole cloth. The Environmental Protection Agency on a near daily basis issues new regulations clearly out of their purview in order to modify and change environmental laws previously passed and to impose a radical green agenda never approved by Congress. The same is true of the Energy and Interior Departments among many others.
None of these extra-constitutional actions have been challenged by Congress. The left in America knows this usurpation of power is nearly impossible to reverse unless stopped in its early stages.
It is clearly the mindset of this administration and its appointees that Congress is merely a nuisance and can be ignored after they were able to take full advantage of the useful idiots in the Democrat controlled House and Senate in 2009-2010 and the Democrat Senate in the current Congress.
Additionally, Barack Obama knows after his re-election a Republican controlled House and Senate will not be able to enact any legislation to roll back the power previously granted to the Executive Branch or usurped by them. His veto will not be overridden as there will always be at least 145 Democratic members of the House or 34 in the Senate in agreement with or intimidated by an administration more than willing to use Chicago style political tactics.
The Eric Holder Justice Department has become the epitome of corruption as part of the most dishonest and deceitful administration in American history.The stalemate between the Executive and Legislative Branches will inure to the benefit of Barack Obama and his fellow leftists.
The most significant power Congress has is the control of the purse-strings as all spending must be approved by them. However, once re-elected, Barack Obama, as confirmed by his willingness to do or say anything and his unscrupulous re-election tactics, would not only threaten government shutdowns but would deliberately withhold payments to those dependent on government support as a means of intimidating and forcing a Republican controlled Congress to surrender to his demands, thus neutering their ability to control the administration through spending constraints.
Further, this administration has shown contempt for the courts by ignoring various court orders, e.g. the Gulf of Mexico oil drilling moratorium, as well as stonewalling subpoenas and requests issued by Congress. Who will be there to enforce the rule of law, a Supreme Court ruling or the Constitution? No one. Barack Obama and his fellow-travelers will be unchallenged as they run roughshod over the American people.
Many Republicans and conservatives dissatisfied with the prospect of Mitt Romney as the nominee for president are instead focused on re-taking the House and Senate. That goal, while worthy and necessary, is meaningless unless Barack Obama is defeated. The nation is not dealing with a person of character and integrity but someone of single-minded purpose and overwhelming narcissism. Judging by his actions, words and deeds during his first term, he does not intend to work with Congress either Republican or Democrat in his second term but rather to force his radical agenda on the American people through the power he has usurped or been granted.
The Navy SEALs removed one threat to America. Now it is time for voters to remove another.The governmental structure of the United States was set up by the founders in the hope that over the years only those people of high moral character and integrity would assume the reins of power. However, knowing that was not always possible, they dispersed power over three distinct and independent branches as a check on each other.
What they could not imagine is the surrender and abdication of its constitutional duty by the preeminent governmental branch, the Congress, to a chief executive devoid of any character or integrity coupled with a judiciary essentially powerless to enforce the law when the chief executive ignores them.
Conservatives, Libertarians, the Republican Party and Mitt Romney must come to grips with this moment in time and their historical role in denying Barack Obama and his minions their ultimate goal. All resources must be directed at that end-game and not merely controlling Congress and the various committee chairmanships.

A Day In The Life
I managed to sleep-in until 5:30am on Friday, despite Murphy's nudgings, but finally relented. It was only 55°F, and after opening-up the Condo to get some cool air before the 95°F heat arrived later, I watered/fed him, made Fresh-Squeezed OJ w/ lots of pulp, Shredded Wheat & Fresh Blueberries and French-Roast, Turkish-Grind Coffee (from whole, freshly-ground beans) with my Chemex® Drip System. The 3¾-lb USDA Prime Black Angus Roast was fully-thawed, so I fired-up the Rival CrockPot®, added 16oz beef broth, 48oz peeled baby potatoes, bay leaves and slow-roasting spices – since two weeks ago when I made 7gal and froze the Yankee Pot Roast, I had 3-4x vegs vs meat and this batch will now even-out those large, now thawing-out containers for Dad and Becky – and got the CrockPot started for 8hrs on low heat setting. The Labor Day Weekend was underway, and traffic would get heavy right around 12noon, so I had to get a few errands done before the roads clogged-up.
Back by 12:30pm, it was already up to 85°F, forecast to hit a muggy, uncomfortable 95-97°F, so I closed-up the Condo and cranked-up the AC. The cooking Pot Roast smelled great. I made a

Murphy woke me on Saturday, at 3:30am for a watering, but I crawled back to sleep until 5:30. After getting-up, and with Murphy watered and fed, I had some Del Monte® Red Grapefruit Sections, Eggs Benedict Florentine w/ Home Fries, a ½-lb of Bacon and coffee. I left for Dad's at 9am, to get some things done, and he, Becky and I had a 10:30 meeting with the VNA Chaplain who will co-minister, with our cousin Rev "PadreTom" at the upcoming Sat, Sept 8th Memorial Ceremony and Luncheon for Mom. I planned-out Sunday's schedule, for after my usual 7am food shopping trip, invited Dad and Becky over for dinner, and left to get a couple of things done. I finished-up the last of the Crab Cakes for lunch, and prepped the cookware and food for dinner at 5pm. I made Filet Mignon w/ Bleu Cheese, Asparagus w/ Fresh Hollandaise, Roasted Fingerling Potatoes w/ Sour Cream, and special Ciao Bella Blood Orange Sorbet w/ 100% Blue Agave Nectar drizzles. After clean-up and 2 loads of dishes, I called it a day at 9:30pm.
Up at 5am on Sunday, I'd actually had a very restful night, not waking-up once, which is unusual. My back had (almost) stopped hurting, my appetite was back, I'd lost 8-lbs in the past 3 days from outdoor work, and Murphy needed

I also needed to pick-up several refilled Rx at the East York Rite Aid, and drive down to the GC&N Complex later in the week, to drop-off some unneeded lawn furniture and patio tables at the front entrance mailbox area, as other
I slept-in until 6:30am on Monday, took care of Murphy's water/food needs, had Texas Red Grapefruit, Cheddar Cheese Grits, Sunny-Side-Up Eggs & Butter Sauce, some Hash Browns/Fries and coffee. A rainy, humid day ahead, but I had a list of things to do: Rxs to pick-up, 8 shelf unit cartons to get into the Jeep's cavernous cargo bay, go to PetCo for Murphy's catfood, and a couple of other stops to make. There were massive t-storm cells moving into the York area, and the downpours and flooded streets happened quickly and intermittently all afternoon. The violent and loud t-storms woke me at 3:15am, but I managed to get back to sleep until 6. With so many things to do and places to go today, and my cleaning lady coming-in at 8:30am, I needed to get things moving and underway early. I did. After some Fresh-Squeezed OJ w/ lots of pulp, Soft-Boiled Eggs w/ Toast in a bowl, ¾-lb Country Sausage Patties, Hash Browns and coffee, I left for Southern York County at 8:15am. GC&N, Rite Aid, WalMart (I haven't been there in a year-plus, but I did get 2 nice work belts), Contino's Shoe Repair (tighter notches for the just-too-long belts), Giant, PNC Bank, Weis Market, Home Depot, Sears, home, Dad's, and back home by 3:30pm. Murphy needed a double watering/feeding, and I had a quick Roast Beef Sandwich & Fries Smothered in Gravy for a "late lunch". I began planning out the best layout and set-up plan,
It was a muggy, warm and drizzly 75°F when I got up at 5:45am on Wednesday. Murphy needed watering/feeding, the garbage collections trucks were banging around in the street, trying to catch-up from the Labor Day Monday Holiday, and it wasn't yet close to being light outside. I opened the front door for Murphy to watch the sun come up, and made Fresh-Squeezed OJ w/ lots of pulp, Rice Crispies w/ fresh blueberries, and coffee. The skylight crew would be back in at 8am to re-check the 4 troublesome units, for any leaks, after Sunday and Monday's hard rains. I couldn't see any from the floor below, but an up-close inspection, via extension ladder, was needed.
I made 12lbs of Ravioli and Bertolli® Sauce w/ Sweet Peas for Dad and Becky, let it cool, packaged it up and took it over at 10:30am. T-storms were rolling thru, with humidity and temps rising quickly to 82°F. After getting home at 11:45am, I fed/watered Murphy, made Lobster Ravioli and Onion Rings and took a short nap. Around 3:30, I decided to move the 8 cartons of shelves from the garage to the
Little Murphy nicely let me sleep-in until 6:15am on Thursday, so I fed/watered him first, had some Del Monte® Red Grapefruit Sections, Shredded Wheat® w/ Fresh Blueberries and coffee. The weather sites had another rainy, hot and muggy day on-tap, for Friday too, so I planned to get some errands done early before that weather arrived. I left at 9:30 to pick-up my shirts at the cleaners (they weren't ready, once again) and so as not to waste the morning trip, went over to Giant to get some things I needed to make some more fresh Porcini Mushroom, Butter & Beef Ravioli pastas. I needed some special "double-zero" flour, Bertolli® Alfredo Sauces and Bertolli® Tomato Sauces, since I make my own pasta fresh for Family and friends, with my trusty, 15-yr old Imperia® Pasta Machine. It takes a little longer, but it's so worth it.
I drove over to Dad's to go over any last minute preps for Mom's Memorial Service & Luncheon, on Saturday, with him and Becky. I have some linen tablecloths to pick-up tomorrow; everything else is "buttoned-down" and ready-to-go. We've been working on this for several months, since Mom passed away on May 2nd. A day with family, friends, without politics and BS, to remember Mom, inter her in our Family Niche at Mt Rose Cemetery, and have some fellowship and enjoyment at a special catered Luncheon at Dad's, since this'll most likely be the last time we all get together again, in one place.
listened to the morning's missed Chris Plante Show Podcast Replay. I also listened to the live streaming Mark Levin Show, from 6-9pm, fed/watered Murphy one last time for the night, and called it quits at 10pm. Tomorrow starts a new week here in the "Journal", and Saturday's service and luncheon will give Dad, Becky and me a measure of closure.

Obama: "You Didn't Build That!"
"Last week, President Barack Obama delivered some telling remarks to a fire station full of people in Roanoke, Virginia. I'll save you the trouble of reading the (long and uninspired) speech and provide you with the most interesting part:
"If you've got a business – you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen." – President Barack Obama, July 13th, 2012.
It would be easy to respond with something along the lines of, "Somebody else made that happen? Who? Who magically imagined the product or service, started the business, built it up, and created the jobs? Who was it? The tooth fairy?" And to some extent, President Obama's statement is so ridiculous as to merit that sort of quick, flippant response.

However, he's not entirely wrong. This reminds me of an argument that Massachusetts Senate Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren would probably make. If he's talking about a mid-sized or large business, where an entrepreneur has hired additional employees, then at that point the business's success isn't purely that of its founder.
Employees add value to a business through work and ideas. That's why you hire employees, after all. Steve Jobs didn't invent every last detail of the phones, computers, and tablets to come out of Apple over the last decade. There were engineers working on those products who developed them. So, employees help entrepreneurs to build their business. "Somebody else" did indeed play a part in making that happen.
But what makes the president's remarks so inane is the totality of what he's saying. He's not saying that entrepreneurs and employees work together to build a business. It's not a collaborative effort. It's all thanks to the employees. Usually, I can understand the way the president's mind works on most issues by examining it through a pragmatic, liberal, or progressive framework. This one baffles me.
As I explained, I can see that he has some of a point, but he's still just obviously wrong on the broader point. Sure, the employees help to build the business, but the business itself wouldn't exist without the entrepreneur. So, to say to entrepreneurs and to business owners, "...you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen," is just wrong. It's silly. They did build that by setting the foundation for the business.
Entrepreneurs are almost always the hardest workers in their business. They work a simply insane number of hours to get their idea off the ground. If they succeed (and they face a tremendous risk if they don't), then they'll start to grow and to hire employees to help. Honestly, if I were an entrepreneur and I read those remarks by the president, I would be furious. It's a tremendous insult to the true job-creators in America, entrepreneurs.
In the context of a long, somewhat rambling campaign speech that touched on every issue under the sun, it may seem as though I'm over-exaggerating the importance of a minor thing he said. But President Obama isn't a stupid man, or even one who makes off-the-cuff remarks he doesn't really mean. He's a very smart man, and he meant what he said.
When the most important issues for most Americans are economic growth and job creation, I believe it's essential to know exactly where both candidates stand on the importance of entrepreneurs.
