What the world has to come to grips with, is that islam isn't a religion at all, but a ruthless, fascist, transnational political and social system of controlling every single facet of its mindless, 8th century adherents' worthless, useless, pathetic lives, on a daily basis. islam is a cult of murder, abject poverty, torture, aggression, enslavement, conversion to it, or death. The religious, social, political and military wings of islam, are One-In-The-Same. Does that sound like a 'religion' to you? Sure doesn't to me. It's easy to see, though, why muslims were so upset by the Pope's quotation of a fictional dialogue between a fourteenth-century Byzantine emperor and a Persian scholar which included a criticism of islam. The Pope went too far when he said that muslims are the descendants of pigs and monkeys. Oh wait; that's what muslim-islamist-arabs say about Jews, isn't it? And of course, the pigshit-gulping, subhuman muslim-islamic-arab trash are now directly threatening to destroy The Vatican, in retaliation. muslims around the globe demand an apology for the recent unfavorable depiction of islam by Catholic Pope Benedict. Now, they're calling for the Pope to be killed. Nice, huh? Has The Pope (I'm a Recovering Methodist) sacrificed himself to death, to show you what the subhuman horror called islam, is truly all about? In response to the Pope's suggestion that islam might not be a peaceful religion — as if that's a news flash — muslims murder an elderly Italian nun at the Children's Hospital in Somalia by shooting her in the back three times. They attack Christians and their churches, burn American flags and western leaders in effigy, all to prove just how peaceful and civilized they really are. There is nothing to be upset about, Pope. There is nothing to apologize for, Pope Benedict XVI; you got it almost exactly right. It was a very busy retail weekend, last week, at the GC&N Complex, with hundreds of trees and shrubs being sold, and scheduled for installation, delivery of pick-up. Several dozen new landscape jobs, which have lain dormant over the drought-riddled Summer, are also now scheduled for October. September is filled, and October is almost completely filled-up with profitable, decent-sized landscape jobs. If Winter holds-off for part of November, we can get even more completed. I'm hoping to make-up for the slow, Summer months during the drought, when retail sales came to a slow trickle. Large landscape jobs, proliferated, however, tying-up my company assets. My early-in-the-season, loss of 2 crew chiefs wasn't a postive thing, for my bottom-line. Now, we're back up, to 'corporate speed', IMO. Unfortunately, it's almost the end-of-season, and quite dependent upon the weather. The Farmer's Almanac isn't very optimistic about the coming Winter, either.
“Indian Summer” has returned to the Mid-Atlantic Region, and temps are in the upper-70s/lower-80s, with comfortable humidity, occasional showers moving through and good, open-window, sleeping weather at night. I like the Spring and Fall. Summer and Winter are just too extreme; Spring and fall are just right, for me, IMO.
I'm ecstatic about how busy we are, once again, with tree installations as a result of the once-a-year, 25% Off Nursery-Wide Sale. Hopefully, we'll make-up for the loss of work and income of 2 key crew chiefs, their crews and work, who left us in the early and mid-season of this year. No, I don't fault either of them. I wish them both well; the changes were good 'career moves' for each of them, IMO, but very, very inconvenient and costly for me. I had 5-6 years 'invested', in each. Such is life.
I took Wednesday off, slept-in 'til noon, and went shopping for some new Lee® Jeans. My current 'wardrobe' of 15 pairs is getting well-worn, patched and just plain wearing out. I did some projects around the condo, which I'd put-off since going back to work 7 days a week, beginning in September. In fact, Sears was selling similar work, torn and patched 'designer jeans' for $79, while my new ones cost a mere $29. Go figure.
I saw frost on the lawns, at lower elevations, on Thursday morning. I also heard that it's snowing in the Rockies. Hmmmmm, I'm thinking that an *early Winter* is coming this year. When I hear that snow has moved into the Plains, that's my cue to have the Lscp Crew and GC&N Staff begin putting tens-of-thousands of potted nursery stock and perennials away in the 6 massive 30ft x 100ft Quonset Greenhouses, and begin Winter-prepping of the irrigation systems.
