I know where I reside on 99% of all issues, but am truly amazed at where the rest of America comes down. Are the political players Libertarian, Authoritarian, Centrist, Left Liberal, and Right Conservative, or are they democRATs, Bushies, Republicans, Socialists and hateful Hard-Left Clintonistas? Who the heck knows? I'd go with the former. We're omitting the lowlife, degenerate, subhuman Green Enviro-Wackos, NOW-NAGS, PETA, ELF, ALF, Homos, Red Diaper Doper Babies® etc. But what about George W. The first back-to-back Nor'Easter snow storms of the season hammered us last Friday and Saturday. Unofficially, we got 14-20" at the GC&N Complex — with drifts as high as 6' — while 15 miles to the north, York (PA) recorded 10-12". Snow emergencies were posted in all the surrounding towns. I plowed Friday, but the snow was coming down too hard, so I bailed-out after 2hrs soaking wet — I definitely had the wrong coat/hat for the job at hand — and went home to get warm and dry. On Saturday, I plowed for almost 6hrs, had the right clothes on, so I kept warm and dry, and got the driveways and parking lots cleared. I went back down Sunday to finish the drives/lots, and hand shovel the steps and Main and #1 greenhouses out. The snow was so wet and heavy, my 7ft blade on the John Deere 675B SkidLoader couldn't handle it, so I switched to the John Deere 40 Tractor and its front bucket. That worked like a charm, except sitting so high in the blustery cold winds, I had to take frequent warm-up breaks. Two and a half days of clearing/ plowing snow. Jeez, 6 dead so far. Bummer. Getting older, sucks. I prefer Spring and Fall; Summer's too hot, and Winter's too cold.
