i was going to write a mixed piece about the "Florida" shooting of the doper, thug, ghetto-rat criminal punk Martin, the "Ferguson" riots over the thug punk ghetto-rat Brown, the phony "Sony hack", the fat, stupid thug punk ghetto criminal Garner and the resultant, very sad "assassination of two NYPD cops", but all of those and more are well-covered in the DBMs and alternative media. I have a LOT to say about each, and it will PO 70% of the LIVs who read it.
No sense in adding to the confusion here.
Instead, I decided to again simply wish you and yours a Very Merry Christmas, and a Healthy and (hopefully), a Happier New Year in 2015.
Despite the ongoing nightmare of 0bummerCare, the IRS, NSA, the never-ending – thanks 100% to 0bummer&Co – hyped-up and society-destroying Race War, the Phony Stock Market Bubble, the expanding-around-the-world hell called islam – I could go on and on, but I'll stop right there – because there's reason not to be disheartened.
Our Faith in God and Jesus Christ, and strength from that belief, will see us through as individuals and as a Nation, if we can get it back.
Although our unique and beloved Constitutional Republic is now technically gone, America will somehow survive the next 18 months until 0bummer&Co are gone. "That which doesn't kill you, makes you stronger", comes to mind. I sure hope so. Time will tell.
A Day In The Life
This time, my internal clock went-off at 6am, 32°F, since I had a tech arriving at 8am, and my Sister would be by shortly afterward. I grabbed some OJ, made strong, delicious Turkish-Grind coffee and a quick English Muffin w/ Marmalade, checked weather, news and email. The Choice Security Tech arrived at 8, and immediately swapped out the 2012 3G keypad for a new FCC-mandated 2015 4G Lynx touch panel, and thoroughly tested it with all installed wireless point and sensors. I like it! Becky dropped by with an unexpected Christmas present for me, and she had to run to several appointments. I went out for a long walk down to the Twp Park, across to the York Galleria, and back up to the Rocky Ridge State Park. Again, on Saturday morning, up at 6am to a much colder 22°F; heat and Turkish Robe definitely needed. After OJ, coffee and an English Muffin, I checked the news and weather, and decided to go down to the GC&N to do a little sweeping and cleaning, now that there were some interested people looking at it, plus I wanted to stop at ACE Hardware in Red Lion for some "industrial contractor 45gal/ 8-mil garbage bags", seemingly not available at the usual Weis Markets around York. Around 2pm, while getting gas, I ran into an old friend and customer, and we drove to the Taylor Haus in Stewartstown, for lunch and to catch-up on each other's lives. I did a double-take at the final cost of my 18.3gal (of 20gal) fill-up on the Jeep: $1.89/gal hasn't been seen since 2008, or thereabouts. Gas and diesel prices at the pump, have dropped another 10¢, just since last Wednesday, December 17th: Unleaded Regular (87 oct) is now $2.39/gal, Unleaded Premium (89oct) is $2.49/gal, Premium (92 oct) is $2.69/gal, with Diesel Fuel/Kerosene K-2 staying put at $3.35/gal. Back home by 4:15pm, I did a little clean-up in the condo's front garden, fed the birds, and closed-up the place as dark approached and temps began dropping into the upper-20s. Then, I heard the news
Sunday morning was bright and cold, and more seasonable at 19°F;, when I got up at 7:30. Just some OJ, coffee and I skipped breakfast; checked email, weather and news. The forecast is for a massive Midwest-to-East Coast storm on Christmas Eve/Day, but I sure don't see it for us. Just rain, so there's no White Christmas this year. I had a list of things to get done for the day, and left at 10am. Dad and I made plans to go food shopping tomorrow so we'd be okay for Christmas Week. His, Becky's and my Christmas Prime Rib Feast is "on hold" until his dentures are installed. Traffic was building due to a mere 4 shopping days left until Christmas Eve. I used some side and back roads to get thru the Rt-24 parking lot next to the Galleria of York, and unpacked right away. After a Cheeseburger & Fries and Chicken Corn Soup, I started laundry loads, paid bills and picked-up the week's mail from the CHCA community mailbox. By 8pm, I was listening to the evening's streaming Gun Talk Radio Network Show – and the 30-min "After Show" – while I followed the thread on this site, until 12:30pm. Time for sleep; lots to do tomorrow.
I was awake and up at 4:30am on Monday; tried but couldn't get back to sleep. At 16°F; and a heavy frost, it was noticeably colder than yesterday. Heat, OJ and coffee were good. 'Tis the season
Sleeping-in until 7:45 on Tuesday, I knew the weather was going to suck for the morning: low-30s, ice covering everything and heavy fog, from the night before Accu-Weather forecast. It did, so I stayed put for the morning. After coffee, some Del Monte® Mandarin Oranges, and Eggs Benedict Florentine w/ Home Fries, I took three firearms (two AR-15s & one AR-10) down to the basement workshop, began the long process of field-stripping them, cleaning, oiling and lubing; it would last most of the day. I took numerous breaks and checked the weather and news on the upstairs computer during each 15 minute break. After lunch break for a Grilled Cheese & Roast Beef Sandwich w/ Chips and a ginger ale, I worked another 4½ hours, until the fumes of Hoppe's #9 Cleaning Solvent started making me lightheaded (more than 'normal', LOL), and I quit for the day. I can finish-up those tomorrow. After washing-up from the firearm solvents, oil and lube, I listened to the morning's missed Chris Plante Show WMAL (DC), until 6pm, the usual Mark Levin Show, until
Thunder woke me around 8:30am on Wednesday, and the pounding rain on the skylights sounded like a freight train in my front yard. 49°F;. A Winter t-storm isn't really rare or unusual, but some people are still flummoxed by it. I had a bowl of Del Monte® Red Grapefruit Sections, a Chemex carafe of super-strong French-Roast, Turkish-Grind Coffee, and Fried Ham Hash, Sunny-Side-Up Eggs & Ancho Catsup. The email was minimal, news was just the usual pre-Christmas "dink stories" about last minute shopping, travel nightmares and NORAD tracking Santa, all of which I skipped. The weather was problematic for both driving and flying, with dense fog, torrential rain cells moving thru and downright balmy temps of 50°+. No matter; better than snow. At 11am, I took a cup of coffee down the basement, and continued working on the 3 rifles I'd worked on yesterday. By 2pm, I had them completed, took them back to the gunsafe, and pulled 2 more to clean, plus the .357 Magnum and one of the 45s. At 1pm, I made a quick Grilled Cheese, Ham & Tomato Soup, and went back down to try to get the project moving along and finished by day's end. Listening to Christmas Carols streamed over the computer's massive sound system, while in the basement shop, was nice. By 10pm, all was complete and the firearms were replaced in the gunsafe. I bagged it for the night, hoping to sleep late on Christmas Day.

Now, for the first time, Ebola has "officially" entered the United Sates via two health aid workers, that contracted the disease while working in Africa, where the Ebola outbreak continues.

Case fatality can be up to 90 percent – in other words, 90 out of every 100 people who catch Ebola die. The first patient landed in the United States on Saturday, August 2, 2014. Dr. Kent Brantly was then flown from Africa to the United States and then transported via ambulance to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Obama: "Entrepreneurs Don't Build Businesses"
"Last week, President Barack Obama delivered some telling remarks to a fire station full of people in Roanoke, Virginia. I'll save you the trouble of reading the (long and uninspired) speech and provide you with the most interesting part:
"If you've got a business – you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen." – President Barack Obama, July 13th, 2012.
It would be easy to respond with something along the lines of, "Somebody else made that happen? Who? Who magically imagined the product or service, started the business, built it up, and created the jobs? Who was it? The tooth fairy?" And to some extent, President Obama's statement is so ridiculous as to merit that sort of quick, flippant response.

However, he's not entirely wrong. This reminds me of an argument that Massachusetts Senate Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren would probably make. If he's talking about a mid-sized or large business, where an entrepreneur has hired additional employees, then at that point the business's success isn't purely that of its founder.
Employees add value to a business through work and ideas. That's why you hire employees, after all. Steve Jobs didn't invent every last detail of the phones, computers, and tablets to come out of Apple over the last decade. There were engineers working on those products who developed them. So, employees help entrepreneurs to build their business. "Somebody else" did indeed play a part in making that happen.
But what makes the president's remarks so inane is the totality of what he's saying. He's not saying that entrepreneurs and employees work together to build a business. It's not a collaborative effort. It's all thanks to the employees. Usually, I can understand the way the president's mind works on most issues by examining it through a pragmatic, liberal, or progressive framework. This one baffles me.
As I explained, I can see that he has some of a point, but he's still just obviously wrong on the broader point. Sure, the employees help to build the business, but the business itself wouldn't exist without the entrepreneur. So, to say to entrepreneurs and to business owners, "...you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen," is just wrong. It's silly. They did build that by setting the foundation for the business.
Entrepreneurs are almost always the hardest workers in their business. They work a simply insane number of hours to get their idea off the ground. If they succeed (and they face a tremendous risk if they don't), then they'll start to grow and to hire employees to help. Honestly, if I were an entrepreneur and I read those remarks by the president, I would be furious. It's a tremendous insult to the true job-creators in America, entrepreneurs.
In the context of a long, somewhat rambling campaign speech that touched on every issue under the sun, it may seem as though I'm over-exaggerating the importance of a minor thing he said. But President Obama isn't a stupid man, or even one who makes off-the-cuff remarks he doesn't really mean. He's a very smart man, and he meant what he said.
When the most important issues for most Americans are economic growth and job creation, I believe it's essential to know exactly where both candidates stand on the importance of entrepreneurs. Yesterday, we learned that President Obama believes that entrepreneurs don't build businesses. Ultimately, they're irrelevant. Take that for what you will." © Principles and Policy, July 14, 2012

I was hugely-pleased, a little stunned at the secrecy, but half-expecting a juicy trove of treasures.
It is called the Center of Military History. It is located 30 minutes outside Washington, D.C., at Fort Belvoir in Virginia. The building itself is very nondescript.
But behind a series of highly alarmed doors and long, cement, camera-laden hallways. It is the highly sophisticated, climate-controlled treasure room where the army keeps its most precious artifacts.
The facility was built for $24 million in 2010. The cavernous warehouse is typically shrouded in total darkness. Motion lights illuminate only the areas in which someone is walking.
If I could get tickets, I'd fork over my first-born child. Oh wait; I don't have one. Heh. I'd go there in a heartbeat.
