destroying american democracy -- an inside job

Can our government, law enforcement, and the Intelligence Community still be trusted? Have those federal agencies weaponized law enforcement and intelligence against political opponents in the U.S.? Today we know that the "Russia hoax" was a lie. The information in the "Steele dossier" was false -- and the FBI knew it was from the start. Pictured: Former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele arrives at the High Court in London on July 24, 2020, to attend a defamation trial brought against him by Russian entrepreneur Alexej Gubarev in connection with the "Steele dossier". To those whom much is given, much is expected.

Just last week it was revealed that the FBI again withheld pertinent information from the American public, for past two months, until after the November 8, 2022 federal election.

  • The combination of a politically weaponized Intelligence Community, operating hand-in-hand with organizations that are main gateways for information to millions of Americans, is a serious threat to American democracy and the integrity of our elections.

  • Let us just briefly look at the steep slope of lying, deceit and corruption that has seeped into the leadership of the U.S. Intelligence Community.

  • Having... false information -- some of which the FBI actually altered -- in the public domain was evidently intended to damage Trump.

  • Today we know that the "Russia hoax" was a lie.... the information in the "Steele dossier" was false -- and the FBI had known it was from the start.

  • For almost two years, the authenticity of the material found on Hunter Biden's laptop was questioned. Today, its authenticity has been verified; the information is real and damning. As summarized by the New York Post: "Yes that letter from the Dirty 51 had all the classic earmarks of a disinformation operation, all right – one designed to ensure Joe Biden won the presidency. And it was essentially a CIA operation, considering 43 of the 51 signatories were former CIA."

  • One final example of the Intelligence Community involving itself in domestic politics comes from the recent release of the Twitter files -- Tweet #17 states, "executives were also clearly liaising with federal enforcement and intelligence agencies about moderation of election-related content." Finally, the FBI paid Twitter $3.5 million reportedly to "handle requests from the bureau."

  • The FBI, DHS and the ODNI had literally had set up shop at Twitter.

  • Can our government, law enforcement, and the Intelligence Community still be trusted?

  • Have those federal government agencies literally weaponized law enforcement and intelligence against political opponents in the U.S.?

  • Has more than one solitary person -- former FBI attorney Kevin Clinemith, for altering an email -- been held accountable for these egregious abuses of power?

  • Who authorized the cozy relationship between law enforcement, the intelligence community with twitter?

  • Who in these government agencies reviewed and approved of the output and decisions coming from these joint efforts?

  • Who has the records, notes and decisions that emanated from these groups?

  • It is clear that our law enforcement community needs to be investigated, but most importantly we need to investigate how our Intelligence Community has evolved from having literally a non-existent relationship with speech in America to being inside the room determining what speech is allowed.

  • There... needs to be a significant investigation by an outside, non-government group to understand how far this massive government overreach into free speech and election manipulation went. Clearly the government has been influencing what we get to see and hear. It needs to stop -- now -- before our democracy is destroyed.

  • Over the last few years, there has been much written about the destruction of American democracy. Frequently the threat has been of alleged interference in U.S. elections by Russia, China or other state actors. Government agencies, the name of election integrity, were assigned to identify and disrupt these foreign intrusions. As more and more information is revealed about these agencies, it seems that America's Intelligence Community participated in these activities domestically, and in a way that poses a grave threat to both election integrity and American democracy.

Just last week it was revealed that the FBI again withheld pertinent information from the American public, for past two months, until after the November 8, 2022 federal election. As with the Bureau's reported cover-up of evidence influence-peddling reportedly found on Hunter Biden's laptop, agents knew, since November 2, 2022, about at least some of the three sets of classified material that illegally found their way into the garage and library of President Joe Biden and into the Penn Biden Center think tank at the University of Pennsylvania -- to which anonymous members of the Chinese Communist Party have donated $54.6 million.

Their existence only became known this week, after the newly elected Republican-majority House of Representatives announced that it would hold hearings on "how the [Justice] department handled investigations into classified materials found at former President Donald Trump's Florida home and those found at President Joe Biden's office in a Washington think tank bearing his name and his Delaware home..."

In addition, the recent release of the "Twitter Files" has raised at least two major concerns regarding actions by the Intelligence Community. The first is that the wall of separation between the Intelligence Community and the U.S. media has not only sprung a leak, it has totally collapsed. The report that officials from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) met weekly with Twitter executives to coordinate information is totally inappropriate. Would officials from the ODNI review, affirm or label certain sets of information as false? When ODNI was created, no one intended its officials to have a role in these types of discussions.

It also appears that intelligence officials in recent years have politically weaponized intelligence. The combination of a politically weaponized Intelligence Community, operating hand-in-hand with organizations that are the main gateways for information to millions of Americans, poses a serious threat to American democracy and the integrity of our elections.

Let us just briefly look at the steep slope of lying, deceit and corruption that has seeped into the leadership of the U.S. Intelligence Community.

First, there are not enough words to praise our Intelligence Community and the men and women who risk their lives to keep America safe. These are the rank-and-file professionals that form the core of the Intelligence Community. Most are dedicated to the mission of gathering the necessary information to protect our nation. Their leaders have a responsibility to serve these individuals. Too often, however, as the current array of whistleblowers indicates, those leaders have let these individuals down.

Imagine their reaction in 2013 when, in response to a question from Senator Ron Wyden to then-Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper about whether the National Security Agency (NSA) collects "any type of data on millions, or hundreds of millions of Americans," Clapper answered, "No sir, not wittingly." Clapper, who had been given the question the previous day, was asked after the hearing if he wanted to amend the answer, and declined. It was shortly thereafter that a massive NSA program containing millions of pieces of Americans' data was revealed. Clapper was caught in a huge lie -- to U.S. Senator Wyden and the American people.

On January 12, 2017, CNN reported that President-elect Donald Trump had been briefed by DNI Clapper, FBI Director James Comey, CIA Director John Brennan, and NSA Director Michael Rogers. The topic: "Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Donald Trump." It was intended to inform the President-elect that these allegations "are circulating among intelligence agencies, senior members of Congress, and other government officials in Washington." The briefing also touched on other major allegations they claimed were "circulating."

Having this false information -- some of which the FBI actually altered -- in the public domain was evidently intended to damage Trump. The Russian "hoax" allegations would haunt and damage the Trump presidency for almost two years. Clapper himself stated:

"I express my profound dismay at the leaks that have been appearing in the press -- they are extremely corrosive and damaging to our national security."

Clapper also released a statement that neither he nor anyone else in the Intelligence Community were responsible for the leaks. How did this highly classified information, then, get into the public domain?

A House Republican investigation provides the answer. Clapper denied leaking the dossier but admitted to discussing the dossier with CNN correspondent Jake Tapper and perhaps other journalists in early January 2017. Later in 2017, Clapper would go on to join CNN as a "national security" contributor and CNN would receive an award for its reporting at the White House Correspondents' dinner.

Today we know that the "Russia hoax" was a lie. After a 22-month investigation, no evidence of collusion between any element of the Trump campaign and Russia was uncovered. The supposedly compromising evidence had never existed; the information in the "Steele dossier" was false -- and the FBI had known it was from the start. The entire fabrication had been an attempt to attack and politically weaken Trump.

In October 2020, shortly before the elections 51 former intelligence professionals had even signed a joint letter stating that the Hunter Biden laptop had "has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation." They stated that their national security experience made them "deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case." They went on:

"If we are right, this is Russia trying to influence how Americans vote in this election, and we strongly believe that Americans need to be aware of this."

The New York Times raised questions about the authenticity of the materials found on the laptop. Bill Evanina, the National Counterintelligence and Security Center Director, had indicated in August that Russia was trying to denigrate the Biden campaign. All these manufactured "facts" were apparently intended to create circumstances where reasonable people would have to conclude that the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation.

Signatories of the 2020 letter included Clapper, Brennan, Michael Hayden, Jeremy Bash and David Buckley. Clapper and Brennan are familiar names. They were involved in the January 2017 briefing to President Donald Trump on the fake Steele dossier. Jeremy Bash and David Buckley are worth mentioning because they continue to play significant roles in domestic and national security areas in the U.S. government. Buckley was the majority staff director on the House Select Committee investigating January 6th. Bash has been named to co-chair a government commission to review the war in Afghanistan.

The fraudulent efforts by the U.S. government, Clapper, Brennan and the 49 others -- along with Hillary Clinton, her campaign committee, the Democratic National Committee and the suppression of the media and social media (here and here) -- to influence the public unfortunately met with some success. For almost two years, the authenticity of the material found on Hunter Biden's laptop was questioned. Today, its authenticity has been verified; the information is real and damning. As summarized by the New York Post:

"Yes that letter from the Dirty 51 had all the classic earmarks of a disinformation operation, all right – one designed to ensure Joe Biden won the presidency. And it was essentially a CIA operation, considering 43 of the 51 signatories were former CIA."

One final example of the Intelligence Community involving itself in domestic politics comes from the recent release of the "Twitter Files." According to tweet #20 of the third tranche released:

"This post about the Hunter Biden laptop situation shows that Roth not only met weekly with the FBI and DHS, but with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence."

Tweet #17 states: "executives were also clearly liaising with federal enforcement and intelligence agencies about moderation of election-related content."

Finally, the FBI paid Twitter $3.5 million reportedly to "handle requests from the bureau."

We now know what happened. Twitter suppressed discussion of the Hunter Biden laptop story and suppressed conservative messaging, while at the same time it appears the FBI, DHS and the ODNI had literally had set up shop at Twitter.

The American people should be outraged. This level of collaboration between federal law enforcement and a private sector company on controlling speech is terrifying. Having our Intelligence Community, which is supposed to be focused on foreign intelligence collection, involved is even more terrifying.

DNI James Clapper lying to the American people in 2013 about government surveillance of them, the promoting of the Russian hoax theory in 2017 by CIA Director Brennan, DNI Clapper, FBI Director Comey and others, the suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story by 51 former intelligence professionals, and the close working arrangement between the FBI, DHS and the ODNI in 2020-2022 raises a staggering series of questions:

It is clear that our law enforcement community needs to be investigated, but most importantly we need to investigate how our Intelligence Community has evolved from having literally a non-existent relationship with speech in America to being inside the room determining what speech is allowed.

There also needs to be a significant investigation by an outside, non-government group to understand how far this massive government overreach into free speech and election manipulation went. Clearly the government has been influencing what we get to see and hear. It needs to stop -- now -- before our democracy is destroyed.

    A Day In The Life.

Up at 8:30a on Friday, a sunny start, I went thru my finger stick to check my BSL (Blood Sugar Level) and recorded it on my Diabetes 2 chart, made coffee and breakfast, took a 500mg Tylenol Extra Strength for various pains, had a couple smokes in the semi-warm garage and checked the leftover errands list. I didn't even have to fire-up the garage heater. Amazingly like an early-Spring morning. Take a picture; it won't last. It's still Winter. It was already 50°, and forecast to hit 57°. I tuned into my usual morning Talk Show, the "Chris Plante Show", from 9-12, and had a Croissant for breakfast.

As I had a single, Mini-Croissant for breakfast, I thought about this video: here's how to feed 10,000 people a day. Wowzer. And good to know, that racism is alive and flourishing in a blakk student union shithole university, like Auburn University.

I checked my calendar, the day's to-do list, and got ready for the day. I left for the cavernous York Galleria at 1p, to meet Sherry, and perhaps drive to the nearby Springettsbury Twp Park, to walk in the outdoor fresh air. Too windy; we stayed at the Galleria for 1½ miles, with 2 rest stops at the Food Court tables, and came back to my place. As usual, we had a very, very nice time, and will get together next Tuesday -- Valentine's Day -- for some more walking, hugs & kisses. Sherry left around 5p, and I had to make a run to Rite Aid to p/u some waiting Rxs. I had dinner when I got back home, thru heavy traffic, and watched Fox News Channel until Vanity Hannity, and abandoned the TV, for my computer. I bagged it around 12:30a.

HEADLINE: "DOJ, FBI targeting Catholics as 'violent extremists' under scrutiny by state AGs: 'Bigotry' is 'festering'". Is it mazing that the corrupt DoIJ/FBI etc, run by leftists, communists, socialists, fascists, anarchists are specifically targeting religious groups, when THEY HAVE NO AUTHORITY to do so, as defined by The US Constitution. The Garland bitch needs to be removed and spend the rest of his faggot life in a cell, with a 450lb sambo homo named "Bubba". Bend over and pick-up the soap, Garland, you effeminate subhuman POS. You're not fit to sit upright and feed yourself, punk ass scumbag.

Up at 8:30a on Saturday, to a bright, sunny, cold 38° morning. I went thru the usual routines, had coffee, and scanned the news and weather on my desktop computer, NOT my SmartyPants Phone. I had calls from Rite Aid, for 2 meds I was out of, so I left at 11:30a, to get them. Traffic was heavy, I had other things to do, got back and had a MISSION BBQ 'Moist" Brisket on Rye w/ Tomato Sandwich, and laid down on the LR couch, for a couple hours. Back up at 6, it was dark and getting colder. After warming-up the condo, I had a light dinner, watched Discovery+ "Gold Rush, Season 3", for 8 or 9 episodes, and called it a night at 1:45a.

Up at 9:45a on Sunday, it was a cold, cloudy 38° -- I sleep much better on cloudy mornings -- fired-up the furnace, made coffee, had breakfast, grabbed a shave and usual everyother-morning shower, and got ready for the day. NO, I don't watch any so-called "pro" or college sports. I only watch F-1, IMSA GT and IndyCars. The "Stupor Bowel" isn't on my schedule, today. I don't have the temperament or time for it. I tuned into the "Chris Plante Show" Podcast from Tuesday, and ran a couple of nearby errands. Cold and damp today. After some delicious Moist Brisket for lunch, I grabbed a 2hr nap on the LR couch, finished some paperwork, and purposely avoided the 6:30p Stupor Bowel 57, on TV. And BTW, take your "black national anthem", and stuff it up your nigger ass, NFL scumbags.

Truth-be-told, I miss the original CNN, back in the 70s & mid-80s, when it was a 15-min, rotating NEWS STATION, and you could get national and world NEWS in 15-min segments, with updates. Then suddenly, it all went leftist and is dogshit, today. Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, OAN... and all the rest, are steaming piles of dogshit: programs for idiots, morons and cretins. Nothing that even resembles NEWS.

In a cranky mood because of more and more and more and more US Gov't stalling, lies and deception. and no news truthful and timely updates -- so what's new? -- I turned-off the 82" Samsung QLED 4 HD-TV, and laid down on the LR couch, for a short nap. Until 10p. Wow. It was raining hard, but no snow. I took my 16-pill regimen, and closed down the computer, to get to sleep early tonite, at 10p. Busy day tomorrow.

Up at 8a, after 10hrs sleep, I was still tired, and my lower back/both hips were hurting. I took 2 50mg Tramadol, a 300mg Gabapentin, turned-up the heat, made coffee, did the usual morning BSL routine, and had some smokes in the garage. I tuned into the "CP Show LIVE" until 11a, when I would have to leave for an errand down south, in Red Lion. It was a "balmy" 44° and sunny, with a forecast 56° high for the day, as I scanned the news and weather. I was back from Red Lion at 11:45am, finished listening to the "CP Show LIVE", and got some lunch. I met Lee at the York Galleria, to do some walking and then run some more errands.

We did 1½ miles, and with our hips and backs hurting, called it a day. He and I left, with me getting my last 2 errands done, and then back home for a nap on the LR couch. After getting back-up around 5:30, from a 2hr snooze, I noticed this weather warning, even though we had heavy rain last evening:

    *** Special Weather Statement ***
    From
    10:48am EST, Feb 13, 2023 until
    06:00pm EST, Feb 13 2023
    • Issued By State College (Penn State) -- PA & US National Weather Service.
    • A combination of dry and windy conditions will create an elevated risk of wildfire spread this afternoon. Minimum relative humidity values are forecast to drop into the low to mid 20s across southern Pennsylvania, with wind gusts between 20 and 30mph. • Residents are urged to exercise caution if handling any potential ignition sources, such as machinery, cigarettes, or matches. If dry grasses and tree litter begin to burn, the fire will have the potential to spread rapidly. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:
    • For more information about wildfire danger and wildfire prevention and education, please visit the Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry website.

After London Broil for dinner, I watched some Fox News, and finished-off the evening, at 11p, with early season 1 & 2, episodes of "Gold Rush". Lights out.

Up at Zero-Dark-Thirty, 6a, on Tuesday, it was a cold 36° and forecast to hit 57°, I fired-up he furnace, made coffee and had a couple smokes in the slowly-warming garage. I had a quick breakfast, and JoAnne arrived at 8:30a, to start cleaning, and I tuned into the "Chris Plante Show", from 9-12. Everytime she runs the Oreck® Vacuum on my Oriental rugs, I have to go out into the garage to have a smoke, and avoid a headache. I hate the sound of vacuum cleaners. By 11:30a, it was a nice 49° outside, so I kept the garage door open, to air it out. I can't wait for Spring or Fall, NOT the Summer heat and humidity, so I can sit outside on the front porch, or on my beautiful back irregular flagstone patio. I'm meeting Sherry at 1:30p, at the ginormous York Galleria Mall, to do some more walking.

Secretary of Transportation Petey Butt-Plug said during a Monday event, that "too many construction crews “don’t look like” the neighborhoods they work in." F•ck you to death, Butt-Boy Faggot.

And the same Faggot Petey Butt-Boy has nothing to say about the Palestine Ohio (4hrs west of me) train derailment, and controlled burn of the tank car's carcinogenic chemical, vinyl chloride. Nothing. He isn't fit to do anything except wash towels in a homo bathhouse.

Sherry and I had a great time, as usual, walking and then back to my place, talking. We exchanged Valentine's Day cards and gifts, and she left at 4:30p, to get some errands done, and get home before dark. I grabbed a short nap, had dinner, and watched the news and a couple other Fox shows, until 11p. Lights out.

Up at 9:30a on Wednesday, I had a painful back, took 2 50mg Tramadol and a Gabapentin, upped the heat, made coffee, did the BSL routine, and had a smoke in the garage. I canceled the day's walk w/ Lee, at the York Galleria Mall. I had 2 loads of laundry to get done, and wanted to rest my back. It was already 54° outside, and headed to 70°, so I could open-up the condo for some fresh air. After tuning into the "CP Show", from 9-12, I had a quick breakfast and also put-off food shopping at Weis Market until tomorrow.

    image with caption -->

I did 2 loads of laundry, opened the condo windows and doors to get the unusually-warm 70° fresh air thru the place, steamed 3 bags of frozen Baby Brussel Sprouts -- yes, I really like them with butter, salt & pepper -- and did some other condo chores, until I took a break for a Classic BLT, for lunch. I tuned into Bonehead Bongino, for a short while, tried to grab an hour nap on the LR couch after the loads of laundry were done. That failed, so I found some other things to do.

Any question if EVs are crap? They are dogshit, and will be a "fad" for a few years, until the idiot mfgrs go bankrupt and out-of-business, with TRILLIONS in expenses, closed plants and a huge unsold inventory of unsold EVs in massive fields, after they ruined our economy.

After dinner, I compiled a food shopping list for tomorrow at Weis Market, watched "Jesse" and "Tucker" on Fox, and a couple of ancient Season 1 episodes om "Gold Rush", and bagged it at 10:30p. Busy day tomorrow.

Awake at 8:30a on Thursday, it was a cloudy, "balmy" 52° morning, and we're waiting for some serious rain and t-storms coming-up from the Gulf. I upped the heat a little, made coffee, had some smokes in the garage and did the usual morning BSL routine. I scanned the office-sunroom computer for news and weather, tuned into the "CP Show" until 12, and finalized my food shopping list. I had breakfast, watched the weather maps, andf I should be going shopping right into the t-storms, as they arrive. Heh. So what? It's only water, so I'll dry-off; just glad it's not snow. By 11a, it was already 64° outside. Amazing for this time of year, yet the coming weather system from the Gulf, is pushing warm air ahead of it.

Mother Nature's In Charge; We're Just Along For The Ride. -- JS, 1996

I left for Weis Market at 12:15p, just after the "CP Show" ended, and the rain started. I left the market around 1, drove home and unloaded, put Bonehead Bongino on, and enjoyed the rainy day. After an errand, I was taking-off my 2009 Galco FED 212 Paddle Holster for my 2009 Kimber 1911 .45cal, and the paddle broke. DAMN! It was no longer produced and one of only a few left in use, in the world. I called Kimber in AZ, talked to Customer Service, and they were overnighting FEDEX replacement parts. Hopefully, I can repair it myself. Next, came the multi-Rx problems with Rite Aid, which took hours to get thru. I had dinner, and was tired from the day's crap. I tried 3x to take a snooze on the LR couch, but failed. After some TV, I quit for the night, early./p>

Tomorrow starts a new week in the "Journal", and I hope it's a better week that today has been. We'll light a candle. Heh.

Massive Internet Blackout Soon? X-class Solar Storm To Hit Earth After Solar Flare Explosion On Sun.

According to space and weather experts, a recent development regarding the appearance of two new sunspots on the Sun has sparked a wave of concern, with the expectation that a global blackout can be hitting the Earth anytime soon.

The National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA) has recently issued a warning about an upcoming solar storm, which can cause major electricity and signal blackouts soon. This comes as two unstable sunspots are visible on the side of the Sun which is facing the earth.

According to experts, a solar storm sparked by a massive solar flare explosion on Earth can cause electricity and internet blackouts in certain areas, and can also lead to loss of radio and GPS signals in several areas, leading to extreme danger.

The warning issued by NOAA states that there is a high chance of an M-level solar flare eruption and a mild chance of an X-level solar flare eruption. If an X-class solar storm hits the Earth, then the level of devastation can be massive.

The warning issued by NOAA states that there is a high chance of an M-level solar flare eruption and a mild chance of an X-level solar flare eruption. If an X-class solar storm hits the Earth, then the level of devastation can be massive.

It is expected that the solar storm will hit the earth this week itself, likely to cause disruptions over the weekend. In the recent few weeks, Earth has already suffered many solar storm-related blackouts in Pacific areas, causing inconvenience.

Further, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) shared alarming footage earlier this week, the scientists from the agency detected a piece of the Sun “breaking away” and swirling to form a massive "polar vortex".

As per media reports, a NASA space expert said, “Implications for understanding the Sun's atmospheric dynamics above 55° here cannot be overstated!” This new development of the sun is also one of the reasons why solar storms can hit the Earth soon.

Space experts have revealed that an X-class solar storm can lead to major disruptions, including a near-global internet and electricity blackout, as well as loss of radio, cell phone, and mobile signals in some areas.

How The NFL Tried To Use The Super Bowl To Assault Free Speech.

Whether you love or hate football, this is outrageous.

Nearly 100 million people will watch this year's Super Bowl in Phoenix, Arizona. But most viewers will never know about a disturbing bit of backstory to this year’s event—how the NFL tried to collude with a local government to attack free speech.

A Phoenix city ordinance, likely lobbied for by the league, would have required local property owners to get the NFL’s approval for any advertisement they wanted to put up on properties in the downtown area. According to the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), the city dubbed this nearly two square mile area a “clean zone” and would’ve required business owners to get permits to display “posters, flyers, banners, pennants, flags, window paintings and even balloons” from January 15 to February 19. As a condition of that permit, they’d need to get permission from the NFL or Arizona’s Super Bowl Host Committee.

The idea was to give the NFL the ability to more closely control advertising in the area while tourism spikes for the event. For example, they could block anyone from displaying Coke ads, since the league formally partners with Pepsi.

FIRE blasted this measure as a “dystopian rule that violates the First Amendment.” Maricopa County Judge Bradley Astrowsky evidently agrees. He just heard a case brought by a local business owner who challenged the ordinance and said, “The city of Phoenix is letting the NFL decide what I can and cannot say on my own property. That’s not right.”

After hearing the case, the judge struck down the city’s ordinance on February 2 and called it “an unconstitutional delegation of government power” to a private entity.

    Good riddance...

These kinds of laws are not new and have cropped up in localities that hosted past Super Bowls as well. But they’re absurd. The NFL has no right to control what other people can do on their properties. And local governments should be in the business of protecting the rights of their constituents, not catering to corporate interests and granting them special privileges in the law.

That’s crony capitalism at its very worst. And, unfortunately, it’s not the only way the government does special favors for the NFL. For example, many NFL teams receive billions in special tax exemptions and subsidies from local governments that force working taxpayers to subsidize a $17-billion-dollar sports league.

Whether you love or hate football, regardless, this is outrageous. It shouldn’t be too much to ask that the NFL pays its own way and plays by the same rules as everyone else.

[PS - I don't watch any so-called "pro" sports, except for F-1 Grand Pris, IMSA and IndyCars.]

What happens to the body when we sleep with the heating on?

Nighttime in January and February is usually really cold, so many people sleep with heating on. How does this affect your health?

Many people get sick in the winter and blame the cold for all their troubles, from the flu to winter depression. Winter can take some of the blame, but the cold isn't really the cause of the illnesses around us. The real culprit for catching viruses is a lack of ventilation. Let's discuss one significant obstacle to health every winter -- the heating.

It's true that it's important to keep the body warm so that it remains healthy and stimulates blood circulation, but don't exaggerate. Any doctor will confirm that there's no need to overheat rooms. On the contrary, ventilating the spaces can reduce the chance of infection.

Still, no one wants to shiver, so most of us spend the day in heated, closed spaces. And when it's really cold we keep the heating on during the night. So we asked Dr. Idan Goren to discuss if sleeping with an air conditioner could become a health hazard and if one can heat rooms without waking up and feeling ill. These were his responses.

Is it worth heating the room at night during the winter? The World Health Organization recommends a minimum temperature of 20 degrees celsius for vulnerable populations such as infants, the elderly and the sick. So on really cold nights keep the heat on but be aware of the effects of it on the body and make sure to ventilate the room.

Many people complain of a dry and sore throat after sleeping with an air conditioner, does this make sense? Definitely. One of the typical problems of a long stay in air-conditioned places is dry and low-humidity air. This can cause a dry mouth and sore throat. The dryness may damage the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract, and even increase their susceptibility to infections.

Other problems caused by heat from air conditioners are skin dryness and a tendency to have irritated skin. Long hours in an air-conditioned environment causes the skin to lose moisture. If it's not returned to the skin, for example by using a moisturizer, it can dry out and cause redness, itching and discomfort.

AC systems are considered fertile breeding ground for pathogens like fungi and bacteria, so they have a high potential for spreading disease. Researchers from Louisiana who tested air conditioners in cars found that 22 of the 25 cars sampled had mold that was diffused when the AC was on.

Allergies can also be caused by staying in closed and unventilated places in the winter alongside various allergens such as house dust mites and mold from air conditioners.

    Are there any other effects?

Of course. There's sick building syndrome in which people who spend a lot of time in the same place, either a home or an office, suffer from a multitude of non-specific symptoms such as significant fatigue and even impaired memory, symptoms for which it's usually difficult to find a definite cause. Researchers who described the syndrome believe that it's caused by central AC systems and various environmental pollutants.

How can you deal with these AC bacteria?

It's very important to clean the filters and other parts of the air conditioner regularly. It's recommended to wash them or clean them with a cloth soaked in an antiseptic in order to eliminate mold spores and prevent their spread.

When you turn on the air conditioner, open the window a little for ventilation, which refreshes the air and increases the humidity.

Bottom line - is it better to avoid heating with air conditioning at night? On very cold nights, it's advisable to warm up a little, on top of keeping the room ventilated. Use a radiator that's less drying than an air conditioner. If you still choose an air conditioner, set it to a temperature of up to 22 degrees so that it dries out the air less. Avoid heating with fireplaces and oil stoves which emit toxic substances.

Maybe We Do Need a White History Month After All.

Every February, when Black History Month comes around, like clockwork, a small percentage of people (you know which ones) take umbrage that Black people get a month to celebrate their history, and there is no White History Month to counterbalance it. I used to argue that white history is taught year-round and thus there is no need to dedicate a month to focus on it. But recently, my views have shifted.

I've come to a realization: Perhaps we do need a white history month—if not two or three. Truth is, a lot of white history has been left out of the books, and Americans of every color need to be aware. Stay with me, here.

Much of the white history we've been taught via public education is sugar-coated or omitted altogether. Let's start at this country's nascent days. George Washington, America's first president, was rumored to have had wooden teeth. That is merely a myth. The truth is, some of the false teeth that comprised his dentures were taken from enslaved people—likely his own. Washington operated like every other enslaver of the time, authorizing beatings to maintain order and tearing apart families long before Donald Trump did the same.

Washington's will stipulated if he died before his wife, Martha, the enslaved people he owned (as opposed to those she held) be freed after her death. Martha ended up freeing his slaves once she realized they had a great incentive to speed up her demise. She released them not from the goodness of her heart but due to fear for her life.

We know Thomas Jefferson owned slaves, most famously Sally Hemings, with whom he had a decades-long relationship as she bore his children. Let's be clear that there's no such thing as a consensual relationship between enslaved person and enslaver. Jefferson repeatedly raped her, although historians would never describe it that way. Many historians—and Jefferson's descendants—denied the lineage of Hemings children, despite DNA evidence that supports the centuries-old belief.

Abraham Lincoln is credited with freeing enslaved people with the Emancipation Proclamation. Yet he only released the enslaved people in the states that seceded from the Union. He did that for two reasons: to inflict economic pain on the South and to keep France and Britain from siding with the South against the North because of those nations' newfound aversion to slavery. Lincoln never considered himself an abolitionist. He repeatedly claimed that Black people were not socially equal to white people nor as intelligent. Given his druthers, he'd have sent all the slaves to Liberia or Central America and been rid of them.

Much of the white history we've been taught via public education is sugar-coated or omitted altogether.

There is so much white history purposefully unknown to most Americans that we must dedicate a month or more to its study. Then, perhaps more people would understand that the Electoral College, which gives additional power today to rural states with low populations, was initially intended to protect slave states and ensure more populated ones couldn't outlaw slavery by the weight of their numbers. We'd know the rationale for the the Three-Fifths Compromise and the provision of the Constitution that allowed for the ending of the International Slave Trade no sooner than 1808. That prohibition had nothing to do with ending slavery; it was about the protectionism of the domestic slave trade, which led to one of the most heinous acts ever perpetrated in the world: slave breeding farms.

America has spent more time denying the existence of breeding farms—like those once based in Richmond, Virginia; and the Maryland Eastern Shore—than educating people about them. Farms whose populations were almost exclusively Black women were forced to have child after child that were ultimately shipped to Southern plantations to meet their needs. Some "benevolent" slaveowners offered the women their freedom after they bore at least 15 children. The fathers were often sent from nearby plantations, although the owners felt free to sample the wares whenever they chose.

The aforementioned Jefferson knew the value of a female enslaved person, though they may have never tilled the field or harvested a crop. He once stated: "I consider a woman who brings a child every two years as more profitable than the best man of the farm; what she produces is an addition to the capital, while his labors disappear in mere consumption."

Many of the laws that exist today stem from slavery or its aftermath. The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, which prevented actions of federal troops on U.S. soil, was to ensure that federal troops never again protected the Black ex-slaves in the South. Their stationing allowed for the Reconstruction Era, while their removal brought Reconstruction to a swift end.

Even people who have heard of Juneteenth may not be aware of its entire history. Yes, it reflects the date Black people in Texas learned they were free, years after the Civil War ended. You won't learn that the federal government was complicit in the delay so that one more cotton crop could be harvested. Texas history books would seem the appropriate place to look for an accurate telling of their history. Still, they would be told a tale of "American exceptionalism" that suggests slavery was a labor arrangement.

The Ocoee Massacre murdered or burned out the entire Black population of Ocoee, Florida, after two men tried to vote in the 1920 presidential election. There was a movie about a similar mass lynching in Rosewood, Florida—which happened just a few years after Ocoee—but you still hear almost nothing about it. During the Black Wall Street massacre, the Oklahoma National Guard bombed the Greenwood District of Tulsa by air, wiping out what had become the wealthiest Black community in America by 1921. The History Channel covered it in an extensive documentary titled Tulsa Burning: The 1921 Race Massacre. There's much more—The Groveland Four, Emmett Till, the list goes on and on—but this 42-minute documentary would be an excellent place to begin commemorating white history month and truly understand what coursework so often omits. But of course, you'll have to wait until March to do so.

[JS: This racist sambo is a lowlife dirtbag moron, with the IQ of a shrunken, rotting turnip. He is so full of Barry Osambo-Boy hatred, that he carries on Osambo's race divisiveness, and hatred of Whites. I included this to illustrate what scumbags are out there, and get published by a website that no one visits or reads. Truth is: blacks and arabs kidnapped tribal men, women and children, sold them to arabs, who sold them to the Brist, who brought them to the 13 Colonies, where we bought them to pick cotton and vegetables, on southern plantations, by demonKKKrats. The KKK was formed by demonKKKrat Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest, of TN, for his massive plantations, as was Jim Crow, by demonKKKrats. White History Month would have to last a full year, whereas black history month could be written on a 3" x 5" card. Slavery in Africa and the MidEast continues today, but WE White Americans ended it here in 1867. Beat that, sambos.]
