there are times when someone says something so incredibly stupid that it just begs to be shared. Such is the case with the demokkkRAT Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, Madam Nancy "Botox" Pelosi (liberal-demokkkRAT-CA). She was on Fox News last week and she actually had the nerve to come out and say what is no doubt the prevailing opinion of the liberal wing of her party. I just can't believe she said it on national TV.
With the sequester set to kick in on March 1st, President Obama and his demokkkRAT allies are hell-bent on shifting the conversation away from proper government cuts, and toward higher taxes. On Sunday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (liberal-demokkkRAT-CA) took to Fox News Sunday to explain that America does not have a spending problem. "It is almost a false argument to say that we have a spending problem. We have a budget deficit problem," Pelosi insisted. "Our deficit problem doesn't come from spending too much; it comes from not taxing enough."
Of course, Nancy Pelosi, whose face is stretched-tighter than Buddy Rich's Snare Drum, is only stating what we already know. President Obama point-blank told John Boehner that he was getting tired of hearing we had a spending problem, making it clear he did not believe that to be the case. This begs a question to be asked of the liberal Democrats. If they refuse to see how out of control government spending is destroying our country, how can they honestly negotiate an agreement to stop and repair said damage? The answer is simply a resounding, WE CAN'T! We can blame John Boehner for The most insidious power the press has, is the power to ignore all truth and facts. the lack of productive negotiations with the demokkkRATs, I have done so myself, but in reality, how is he supposed to negotiate with an addict who refuses to admit they have a problem? More and more, I am convinced that this particular crop of demokkkRATs can not be negotiated with.

A Day In The Life
The pain in my right hand's jammed thumb – when opened, the Jeep's door rebounded off of garage wall and pushed the thumb back into the socket – was still there, but not nearly as bad as last evening, and the swelling had subsided 50%, due to the ice-paks and aspirin. I slept-in until 7:30am on Friday, roused by the garbage trucks outside picking-up curbside bags. A chill 26°F, I cranked-up the heat, grabbed my Turkish Bathrobe, made coffee and OJ, and Soft-Boiled Eggs w/ Toast in a bowl. I kept that down, even with a 99.7°F fever; I need some light food. Meanwhile, I'll eat Jell-O, today. My 10am tech from Spartan Computers in East York, arrived at 9:45am, and quickly found the "loose connection" on the ultra-hi-performance Logitech® THX v5.1 Z-680 Surround Sound System, and it was finally fixed. Viola! How the hell did I miss that slightly-loose plug?

I slept-in until 8:30am on Saturday, cranked-up the heat, disarmed the Condo, made Del Monte® Red Grapefruit Sections, and coffee, but skipped breakfast, again. Just no appetite. No; no Jell-O, either. Although raining/sleeting on the skylights for most of the night, the storm has moved northeast and by 8am, it was snowing lightly at when I opened the front door just a ½", for the morning, and that would soon melt as temps rose into the upper-30s. With all the rain/sleet/ snow we're had since November, there's plenty of "ground moisture: going into the Spring Months, so we should be alright for local farmers' crops. I was taking Rx Tamiflu®, 325mg aspirin, and my usual 4 Rx BP meds, so I decided to stay-inside for the day; no sense in tempting an accident on that "Rx-cocktail mix", by driving unnecessarily. Cold, raw and only 31°F, it was a good day for a short 10-15min walk,
I was up late at 8:30am on Sunday, had OJ and coffee and got ready to go shopping, checked my list and left by 9am. Temps were 22°F and by the time had been out for an hour, warmed-up only to 29°F. Bitter 30-35mph wind meant the Wind Chill was around 2°F. After a few other stops, I was back home and unpacked by 10:30. I left for Dad's and a short visit, and was back home by 11:15. I was up at 7am on Tuesday morning, 33°F, and the approaching t-storm, now a snowstorm, was just to the west of us. I made OJ, coffee, and just had a croissant for breakfast. My appetite just vhasn't returned, yet. The sleet and snow started around 9:45am, dropped 1-2" and reverted to freezing rain and rain. I worked on surface-cleaning the front hall and powder room wooden floors with a bucket of warm water and white vinegar, thoroughly-cleaning it 2x. I still have to spend many hours on my knees, scraping the boards' cracks' dirt out, vacuuming it up, then do another 2x warm
Wednesday was another cold day, with snow squalls moving thru, but at least there was sun. I was up at 7:30am, made coffee and Texas Red Grapefruit; still not much appetite. My old friend, Randy The Plumber, from RE Sanders, arrived at 9:45am, and had the 3 problems repaired in 2+ hours. Works 10x better than it did when it was new, 22yrs ago. I got off easy: $236.52, including labor. He'd finished by 12:30pm. At 26°F outside, I just couldn't get warm, even after a very long, hot and most-welcomed shower. I layered-up with fresh, clean clothes, cranked-up the Condo's heat to 77°F, and within an hour, began to feel like 'my old self". By 4pm, I was getting drowsy, and curled-up on the LR couch, while listening to the radio, and slept for oh, 15 minutes as the damned phones began ringing, and the world went by.

I left for home, stopped at Weis Market to get a couple of things because of the coming ice/snowstorm on Saturday, and because I was so tired from getting-up early, take a snooze. I was already nodding-off and it was only 10:15am.
I've begun setting-up appointments with Hellam Twp's New Building Complex for Wednesday 2/27, and Cousin Rev Tom Shelley's Zion Shaffers United Lutheran Church for Thursday 2/28, to both sell and donate some of the remaining plant material at the GC&N Complex. The Friday, April 26th Auction will be here quickly, as will the approaching warm weather, so plants will have to be dug and transplanted fairly quickly, before "bud break" occurs. I also have to get the 2002 Jeep's title transferred from GC&N ownership to myself, and get new insurance ID cards issued, since we'll be officially dissolving the Sub-S Corp, very soon.
By 7:30pm, I was fading fast, since getting-up at 4am, and not getting any afternoon shut-eye. I packed it in at 8. Tomorrow starts a new week here in the "Journal", and it's already going to be a busy next week.

"Last week, President Barack Obama delivered some telling remarks to a fire station full of people in Roanoke, Virgina. I'll save you the trouble of reading the (long and uninspired) speech and provide you with the most interesting part:
"If you've got a business – you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen." – President Barack Obama, July 13th, 2012.
It would be easy to respond with something along the lines of, "Somebody else made that happen? Who? Who magically imagined the product or service, started the business, built it up, and created the jobs? Who was it? The tooth fairy?" And to some extent, President Obama's statement is so ridiculous as to merit that sort of quick, flippant response.

However, he's not entirely wrong. This reminds me of an argument that Massachusetts Senate Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren would probably make. If he's talking about a mid-sized or large business, where an entrepreneur has hired additional employees, then at that point the business's success isn't purely that of its founder.
Employees add value to a business through work and ideas. That's why you hire employees, after all. Steve Jobs didn't invent every last detail of the phones, computers, and tablets to come out of Apple over the last decade. There were engineers working on those products who developed them. So, employees help entrepreneurs to build their business. "Somebody else" did indeed play a part in making that happen.
But what makes the president's remarks so inane is the totality of what he's saying. He's not saying that entrepreneurs and employees work together to build a business. It's not a collaborative effort. It's all thanks to the employees. Usually, I can understand the way the president's mind works on most issues by examining it through a pragmatic, liberal, or progressive framework. This one baffles me.
As I explained, I can see that he has some of a point, but he's still just obviously wrong on the broader point. Sure, the employees help to build the business, but the business itself wouldn't exist without the entrepreneur. So, to say to entrepreneurs and to business owners, "...you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen," is just wrong. It's silly. They did build that by setting the foundation for the business.
Entrepreneurs are almost always the hardest workers in their business. They work a simply insane number of hours to get their idea off the ground. If they succeed (and they face a tremendous risk if they don't), then they'll start to grow and to hire employees to help. Honestly, if I were an entrepreneur and I read those remarks by the president, I would be furious. It's a tremendous insult to the true job-creators in America, entrepreneurs.
In the context of a long, somewhat rambling campaign speech that touched on every issue under the sun, it may seem as though I'm over-exaggerating the importance of a minor thing he said. But President Obama isn't a stupid man, or even one who makes off-the-cuff remarks he doesn't really mean. He's a very smart man, and he meant what he said.
When the most important issues for most Americans are economic growth and job creation, I believe it's essential to know exactly where both candidates stand on the importance of entrepreneurs.
