Recent media reports claimed that FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino was livid over a memo issued by the Justice Department last week stating that there was no Jeffrey Epstein “client list” and no further records from the Epstein file would be released. Nothing to see here. Move on. Bongino was reportedly threatening to resign if Attorney General Pam Bondi didn’t resign over her seeming incompetence.

If accurate, I think Bongino was right to take a hard line on this. For reasons I don’t understand, Bondi has really botched this Epstein thing, which is visceral for most of Trump’s base in terms of bringing real accountability and transparency to government. I laid out months ago in a column that Trump’s people needed to take the Epstein case and transparency related to it very seriously, or he risked permanently damaging his presidency. Trump’s base doesn’t want excuses — they want Epstein’s client list and the truth about TWA 800, not another cover-up dressed in national security.

The Epstein case is much more than one bad guy. Or even his victims and fellow abusers. It’s become a symbol of the much larger issue of trust by the American people in their own government. And President Trump himself had been fanning that flame for years, including a promise to deliver the goods on the Epstein case. For him now to try to tell us to “move on” is complete tone-deafness. Bongino, who also beat that drum, can read the room. He knows how enormous the issue is for the MAGA base, as do Steve Bannon, Tucker Carlson, Charlie Kirk, et al.

I think it’s too late for Bondi to be saved on this. She made repeated, emphatic claims on Fox News, promising to deliver the goods and claiming the “client list” was sitting on her desk, waiting to be reviewed. Her ham-handed attempt to gaslight us into believing she was misinterpreted is just incompetence.

Trump needs to get a handle on this situation quickly. I’m not sure if that means using a special counsel, as Wayne Allyn Root and others have suggested, but it requires immediate attention, and if persons are prosecutable for having been customers of Epstein, then those prosecutions should be initiated.

If Epstein was running an intelligence honeytrap operation for Israel’s Mossad, the CIA, MI6, or some combination, which I would lay better than even odds is the case, then Trump is in a real bind. He would risk endangering/discrediting our own intel services, those of allies, or both if this were exposed. Some big brains need to solve the enigma in the case of how this gets addressed in a way that satisfies Trump’s base without damaging national security.

But address it he must. And dumping on his own allies for rightly questioning the handling of this is assuredly NOT a good approach to take. Hubris and intimidation will absolutely NOT help him in this particular case and, in fact, will only worsen the situation.

The distrust that Americans have in their government is more than warranted. Recent revelations about the real cause of the 1996 midair explosion of TWA Flight 800 off the coast of Long Island and the government’s role in the disaster and its cover-up only serve to justify that distrust.

Due to the decades-long stalwart efforts of researchers, like physicist Tom Stalcup, we now have definitive proof that a missile took down that aircraft. Many researchers, including myself, recognized that the official government explanation of that crash and an accompanying CIA-created animation of it were preposterous. We sought to extract records from the government—in my case, primarily from the Defense Department—but were obstructed or fobbed off with a few useless documents. But thanks to the indefatigable efforts of Dr. Stalcup, the truth has come to light, with Navy radar tapes tracking the missile revealing the truth. As I wrote in 2018, the TWA disaster reeked of a US intelligence service cover-up.

US military exercises taking place to improve radar systems, which involved firing missiles with live warheads in crowded commercial airspace, were taking place in the area where TWA 800 exploded. Despite hundreds of eyewitnesses saying they saw a missile streak up and take down the aircraft, the government dismissed these accounts and concocted a ridiculous story about an unprecedented mysterious spark in a fuel tank of the plane causing its explosion.

Recall the timing of the incident. It was July 1996, and Bill Clinton was in the heat of his re-election campaign for president. There was no way on earth that he would admit that his own military had accidentally shot down a civilian airliner with 230 souls on board.

Thus began a three-decade-long cover-up operation. But we can trust our government, right? So, we’re now to believe that Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s right-hand woman in his child sex trafficking operation, was convicted and sent to prison, but there were no customers for this sex trade? Please.

President Trump should release the Epstein file while protecting Epstein’s victims, and while he is at it, he should have the TWA 800 disaster thoroughly reinvestigated.

A Day In The Life.

Up at 7:30a on Friday, a less humid, 75°F, cloudy morning, I made coffee, fired-up the Win-7 Pentium HP Desktop to let 32 million lines of code load, had a couple smokes in the garage and checked the leftover errands list. I scanned the news and weather, tuned into the "CS Show LIVE" from 6-9, and the "CP Show LIVE" from 9-12. I had a couple slices of (the freshest bread from Sherry) Italian Herb Toast and planned the day. 10-12: WEIS Market delivery, p/u Rxs at WEIS Pharmacy, 2-4p: xfinity/Commiecast tech app't w/ hardware for repairs. Busy day ahead. I again scanned the weather and news, and planned the day.

Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action.

The WEIS Market delivery order arrived at 10:30a (0a-12p window), and I got that put away. Very nice products/produce, as usual. After lunch, I scanned the news headlines, and got a call from xfinity/Commiecast alerting me that the tech would be here around 4p. He finally arrived at 4:45p, got to work removing all 'CAble Plugged' equipment (since 2007) and installed all WiFi in 3 locations, saving me money. After he'd left, I had dinner, watched the evening news, and stayed with FNC's next 3 shows, switched to History's "unXplained" until 1:30a, and bagged it for the night.

Up at 8:30a on Saturday, a cloudy, but much cooler 69°, rainy and nice. I made a new bag of Kona Coffee, had some Italian Herb Bread (orgasmically-freshest, thanks to Sherry), tuned into a "CP Show Podcast", and scanned the weather and news, had more Italian Herb Bread Toast, and finally... got ready for the day, at 1p. Heh. I had some chores to due, as usual on Saturday, to prep for Sunday's major chores. By 7:15p, the were completed, and I settled-in to watch some meager TV offerings, for a couple hours. By 1a, I was fading, so I unplugged and headed upstairs.

Up at 4:30a on Sunday -- 0-DARK-THIRTY! -- a warm and humid 73°, no wind or breeze (now usual for the past 6mos), so I made coffee, had a few smokes in the dead air space garage, scanned the weather and news. I had poached eggs and croissants for breakfast, planned the many activity requests from others, and previously scheduled app'ts, for the week ahead, and got ready for the day. With the 1st of 2 loads of laundry underway, I backed the Jeep out of the garage, got the recycle bin and garbage bag ready for tomorrow morning's collection, did some niggling condo chores, and was soon ready for a nap.

It's easy to vote yourself into socialism and communism, but you're going to have to shoot your way out of it.

After a nice 2hr snooze, I also missed the 2025 Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto Race (no biggie), and there was no F-1 Grand Prix Race on this weekend, but no matter. After dinner, I watched the news, switched to FNC's "Life, Liberty & Levin" and them TWC's "Prime Suspect: Earth", until 1a. Lights out.

Up at 8a on Monday, a sunny, much-less humid, cooler 73° morning, forecast to hit a mild 82°. I made coffee, tuned into the "NOT CP Show LIVE" (sub host is still there, since CP is on the radio station's 'cruise'), scanned the weather and news, and got ready for the day. After a late breakfast, I left at 12:30p for Red Lion and Dallastown, and 3 stops. Traffic was light, and I made good time.

Back home around 1:15p, I unloaded the Jeep, had a quick lunch, and called Sherry to set aside a day for us this week. It was such a nice day, that I took a drive around East York, with the Jeep's windows down and massive Panoramic Sunroof wide open. I stopped at the DIY Car wash, and cleaned off the dust. After getting home, I took a 2hr snooze on the LR couch, woke to catch the news and a final mug of Kona Coffee, and had dinner. After the evening news, I watched MT's "Iron Resurrection" and TWC 's "Weather Gone Viral", until 1a. Lights out. My cleaning lady's in at 8:30a, tomorrow.

The alarm went off at 6a on Tuesday, a not-yet sunny, clear, 62°, delightful morning. I made coffee, scanned the weather and news, and got ready for the day, before JoAnne arrived. She got here a little early and got to work. I had paperwork to do and worked in the office-sunroom until she needed to clean it, then went out for a short walk around the CHCA complex. Beautiful day. Later, I had some lunch, kept working on the paperwork, took a 2hr nap, and watched the 6p evening news. I switched to History's "The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch" until 1a; then unplugged.

Up at 7a with the alarm, on Wednesday, a sunny, 74°, increased humidity, but nice morning. I had a 10:40a Dr's (nephrologist) app't. I made coffee, fired-up the desktop, scanned the weather and news, and settled-in with both the "CS Show LIVE" 6-9, and the "CP Show LIVE", from 9-12. The Dr's office called to reschedule my morning app't, since I hadn't gotten the lab work/blood-urine tests done yet. Fine with me. Sherry arrived around 1p, and we had 5 wonderfully-relaxing, delightful (as usual) hours together, talking about everything. After she left at 6 or so, I had dinner, watched the last part of the evening news, switched to History's "American Pickers" until 1a, and bagged it for the night.

Up at 8a on Thursday, a sunny, breezy, 77°, forecast to hit the 90s, increasing humidity, a ***HEAT ADVISORY*** posted, morning. I had some errands to get done before the upper-90s heat/humidity gets here tomorrow. I called in 2 more Rxs to WEIS Pharmacy, and have some waiting. I scanned the weather and news... so many stories flying around.

That Colbert Idiot's Firing, Epstein List/Files, Obummer-Boy's "Russia, Russia, Russia" Hoax, Obummer-Boy/CIA/NDI Conspiracy against Trump. It's tough to keep track of all the details and conspiracy theories flying around the Net, just right now. So I don't. I'll wait until some of the chaff separates from the wheat, and settles down. The more serious is the last conspiracy. Are you ready for another 3½ years of this crap? IMO, all criminal, dems/leftist filth involved should be rounded-up and summarily executed. Problem(s) solved.

I listened to the "CP Show LIVE" (pesky sub in until next week) until 11:15a, and then left to get the niggling errands done, before the day's heat/humidity arrives full-force. Traffic was heavy already, and I got thru the Pharmacy and food area for some Gold Peak Zero Sugar Sweet Tea, and back home by 12noon. I skipped lunch, did a couple of condo chores, and tried to get a nap on the LR couch; didn't work. The sun was so bright in the LR, and I just wasn't tired enough, that I couldn't get into La-La Land. After dinner, I watched the usual FNC News, and switched to... THE WORST TV LINE-UP EVER ON TV! Light years beyond NBC (Nothing But Crap)! Jeeeeeez!

Rite Aid, my pharmaqcy of 20yrs, is finally gone.

I witch the CATV Stream back to FNC, and one of the local stations, until 11p, and called it a night.

Tomorrow starts a new week, here in the "Journal", and I have 2 major tasks to get done: lab/bloodwork and getting the WiFi conversion done on my xzfinity/Commiecast system, whuich the xfinity tech started last week, but didn't have the 2 needed WiFi boxes on his truck. Otherwise, a clear week, for Sherry.

Tulsi Gabbard calls for Obama to be prosecuted over 2016 election claims.

Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, has called for Barack Obama and former senior US national security officials to be prosecuted after accusing them of a “treasonous conspiracy” intended to show that Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential election win was due to Russian interference. She said Obama and senior officials in his administration had “[laid] the groundwork for … a years-long coup” against Trump after his victory over Hillary Clinton by “manufacturing intelligence” to suggest that Russia had tried to influence the election. That included using a dossier prepared by a British intelligence analyst, Christopher Steele, that they knew to be unreliable, Gabbard claimed. Trump intelligence chief accuses ex-president and others of ‘treasonous conspiracy’ for alleging Russian interference The post-election intelligence estimates contrasted with findings reached before the election, which indicated that Russia probably was not trying to interfere. In extraordinary comments calling for prosecutions, she added: “The information we are releasing today clearly shows there was a treasonous conspiracy in 2016 committed by officials at the highest level of our government. “Their goal was to subvert the will of the American people and enact what was essentially a years-long coup with the objective of trying to usurp the President from fulfilling the mandate bestowed upon him by the American people. “No matter how powerful, every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, to ensure nothing like this ever happens again. The American people’s faith and trust in our democratic republic and therefore the future of our nation depends on it.” Gabbard, a former Democratic member of Congress, said she was passing documents supporting her case to the justice department. They included a partially redacted intelligence community assessment from the Obama administration on cyber threats to the 2016 election and a series of previously classified memos, including some from the office of James Clapper, who served as Obama’s director of national intelligence. Clapper is one of several officials named by Gabbard as apparently implicated in the supposed conspiracy. Others include John Brennan, the former CIA director, John Kerry, the then secretary of state, Susan Rice, the national security adviser at the time, Andrew McCabe, the then deputy FBI director, who later fell foul of Trump, and Obama himself. The attempt to return the spotlight back to the Russia investigation – long derided by Trump as a “hoax” – comes as the US president finds himself in the maelstrom of the lingering scandal over the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in his prison cell in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on sex-trafficking charges. The Trump administration has come under mounting pressure from the president’s make America great again (Maga) base to release files on the case, including a supposed list of Epstein’s influential clients. Trump, in response, has variously dismissed the existence of such files or said they were invented by Obama and members of his administration, including James Comey, the former FBI director, and Joe Biden, vice-president in the Obama administration. Commentary accompanying a series of Obama-era memos published by Gabbard’s office uses terms characteristic of Trump and his most ardent supporters to paint an alleged conspiracy to discredit his 2016 win. Following a meeting on 9 December 2016 of Obama’s most senior national security team, the document – entitled the Russia Hoax – says: “Deep State officials in the IC [intelligence community] begin leaking blatantly false intelligence to the Washington Post … claiming that Russia used “cyber means” to influence “the outcome of the election. “Later that evening, another leak to the Washington Post falsely alleges that the CIA “concluded in a secret assessment that Russia intervened” in the election to help President Trump.” On 6 January the following year, the document continues: “The Obama administration shares the unclassified ICA [intelligence community assessment] with the public. It falsely alleges, based in part on ‘further information’ that had ‘come to light’ since the election, that Putin directed an effort to help President Trump defeat Hillary Clinton. This ‘further information’ is later confirmed to be the Steele dossier.” The assessment “suppressed” previous pre-election assessments that Russia lacked the intent or means to successfully hack the poll, Gabbard’s report alleges. The Steele dossier, which contained salacious details of “kompromat” allegedly held by Russian intelligence on Trump, formed part of the basis for a lengthy investigation conducted by Robert Mueller, who was appointed as special counsel into the Russia affair. Mueller’s subsequent report concluded that Russia interfered “in sweeping and systematic fashion” in the election campaign but “did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated” with the Russian government’s activities. Gabbard’s nomination as national intelligence director was one of Trump’s most contentious. It drew criticism because of her lack of previous intelligence experience, having never even served on a congressional committee on the subject, and a track record of supportive comments about Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and repeating Kremlin talking points on the war with Ukraine.
