looks like the pendulum has swung full circle. Baltimore stinks, and it's not just the garbage on curbs waiting to be collected.
Something's very troubling about the announcement, by Baltimore’s prosecuting attorney, of criminal charges against six Baltimore police officers in the death of Freddie Gray, the lowlife dirtbag criminal, who deserved what he got, like the criminals Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Eric Garner etc.
Although the prosecuting attorney, officially the state attorney for Baltimore, Marilyn "Dipshit" Mosby, went on at great length in an effort to explain the alleged facts in the context of the criminal law, she also made it clear her primary goal was not to inform the public about the court proceedings to follow but rather to calm the fury of the mobs in Baltimore’s streets, and that she was speaking directly to their anger:
"To the people of Baltimore and the demonstrators across America: I heard your call for "no justice, no peace". Last but certainly not least, to the youth of the city: I will seek justice on your behalf. This is a moment. This is your moment. Let’s ensure we have peaceful and productive rallies that will develop structural and systemic changes for generations to come. You’re at the forefront of this cause and as young people, our time is now."

It's hard to believe that, without the rioters in the streets, Ms. Dipshit Mosby would have so animatedly alleged many of the things she did about the mindset of the officers a mere two weeks after the death of Gray, and without the benefit of an impanelled grand jury investigation.
The case is a difficult one to prove, in any event, since the charges are essentially that the police were indifferent to the plight of Gray, not that they took action to harm him.
But did they know the extent of his vulnerability? Were they aware of what he was experiencing in the back of that police van without police supervision? And what about the fact that the only witnesses with firsthand knowledge may well be the police officers themselves?
Well, here's a wild-assed theory:
Who killed lowlife, criminal dirtbag Freddie Gray, last week in Baltimore? Arthur Conan Doyle, author of "Sherlock Holmes" always said: "...when you have eliminated all which is impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." I predict that only one person had both motive and opportunity to (stomp and) break Gray's neck/spine, which is what was said to have caused his death.
THE OTHER PRISONER IN THE POLICE VAN had both motive and opportunity. The BPD may have been negligent in not belting Gray into the bench seat, but they didn't kill him. Both Gray and the other prisoner had previously met, didn't like each other and actually fought. Gray was a
"snitch" for the police, and had "dimed-out" Allen in some previous drug dealing cases. There's motive. If any intrepid investigator checks and matches the voluminous police reports, court and jail records, they'll find that Gray and the other scumbag tangled at least once before, both outside and inside jail and prison.
Was the other prisoner in the van put into the same side of the van as Gray was in, to accommodate another prisoner pick-up during one of the 4 stops the van made, as reported, before taking Gray to the jail's booking station? There's opportunity. 6 cops in a conspiracy to kill a low-level ghetto-rat thug, and ruin their lives and careers, and their families' lives? Not damned likely. But a rival punk, given the opportunity on a helpless competitor, might/would.
5th paragraph in this article: "Allen says that he was picked up by police on April 12 on suspicion of shoplifting. When police ushered him into the van, Freddie Gray was already in his section of the vehicle." Not separated by a steel wall? Not what was reported in paragraph 3: "... because he was separated from Gray by a solid steel partition." Look VERY CLOSELY at the 2 vans shown in the first CNN video: one has a partition, and the other doesn't. Which one was the van used to transport Gray?
Facts, bad reporting or the key to what happened?
Beyond the particulars of this tragic death, however, we should all be concerned about the possibility that a criminal prosecution in a major American city is being driven by fear of mobs in the street. Ms. Dipshit Mosby did us all a disservice, especially given the facts of the case.
Consider that Ms. Dipshit Mosby is African American black. The mayor of Baltimore is African American black. The police commissioner is African American black. And three of the six police officers who were charged are African American black. They're all demokkkRATs, union members and most are racists. And most of the black rioters/looters/criminals had to have known that.
So, while there has been much debate and dismay over police abuse of African American young black punks, this was not the typical scenario, and it wasn't necessary for Ms. Dipshit Mosby to have addressed that issue. Baltimore would have been better served if she cut out the bullshit and limited her stupid blathering to matter-of-factly assuring all Baltimoreans of her determination to seek "justice under law", not her version of "racial justrice". She's a dumbassed, Affirmative Action, talentless bitch skank, who couldn't, who didn't and who won't. Baltimore and all US cities are screwed: the "endless summer" never ends for the subhuman ferals who inhabit those shitholes.
If you're seriously thinking Sanford (FL), Ferguson (MO), Staten Island (NYC) and Baltimore (MD) weren't planned, approved and exacerbated by 0sambo's racist, White Hut, you're dreaming, America. And the worst is yet to come.
A Day In The Life
The recycling garbage truck woke me at 7:30am on Friday, and although the day started out sunny and 61°F, it quickly clouded-over while temps climbed into the 80s. I made OJ and coffee, had some toast and listened to the 9am - 12noon EST streaming Chris Plante Show, WMAL-DC (click LISTEN LIVE at top right of page), checked news and weather, and scanned the incoming email (still working!). The back and hip pain were prodigious, so I used a coldpak for much of the morning, and ate a handful of aspirin before leaving at 1:15pm for the cleaners, a gas-up for the Jeep with 50¢ off/gal, and the realtor and bank meetings. All that before the 3:30 meeting with Ben, and his landscape company, at Dad's home. I was there at 3, so I planted 4 new and transplanted 1 existing Geranium "Johnson's Blue", and brought one home for my condo's garden. Damn, that little pill worked. I slept like a baby until 8am on Saturday; no wake-ups, no pain and no strain. Coffee, OJ, a Croissant w/ Apricot Preserves, and I was satiated. The hip pain returned by mid-morning, but I dealt with it. My realtor had a 1:30pm walk-thru at the old 20ac GC&N Complex, and asked me to help out with any potential buyer questions, and history of the business. I drove down at 12:45pm, opened-up and checked the buildings for Winter damage; all okay. I walked around for 2hrs with the realtor, his client and wife, and was glad it was finally over, as my hip
Up at 7 on Sunday morning, I felt pretty good, and the hip/back pain was minimal. After some aspirin, I made OJ and coffee, had Soft-Boiled Eggs w/ Toast in a bowl, scanned the usual news and weather sites, and checked email. Gradually, the pain returned as I worked on laundry loads and condo chores, and with temps rising into the mid-80s, I opted to stay-in, finish the chores and use the coldpaks and aspirin. I didn't really have any errands to do, and I hadn't planned on going over to Dad's until Monday. While the laundry was running, I paid the upcoming Verizon condo and AT&T mobile bills (VISA CC) online, and went out for a short walk around the condo's streets. I didn't get far; the pain was bad enough that I had to turn around and come back inside, get aspirin and a coldpak, and lay down on the LR couch, to rest my back/hip. I fell asleep until 7pm, finished the laundry, and listened to the evening's streaming Gun Talk Radio Network Show, from 8-11, while I followed the thread on this site with a group of like-minded 2A people. I closed down at 11, for the night.
The Live Bald Eagle Cam is still up, on and going strong, though the camera lens is foggy and dirty. The 2 Eaglets are getting really big, have feathers and the nest is getting even smaller. They do seem to be doing fine with plenty of food and attention from Mama Eagle.
After a rough night, I had an even worse Monday morning. Up at 6:30, the back/hip/leg pain was much worse, so I put an coldpak on it right away; what a system shock that was that so early in the day. Up at 6am, I had very little pain, took aspirin anyway, enjoyed OJ and coffee, and checked the weather, news and email backlog. It was already 71°F by 9am, and would get into the low-90s. I needed to get some missed errands, from Sunday/Monday/Tuesday done, now that I was mobile again, and before it got so hot and humid. Summer's heat and humidity is bearing down upon the Region, and the next few months will be miserable. I hate both. I left at 10 and hit the post office, cleaners, Staples, bank and convenience store; I didn't have my food shopping list along, so I'll get that done tomorrow morning when the cleaning ladies are in. The roads were pretty empty, as were the stores. Back by 12:30pm, I unloaded the Jeep, grabbed a quick Roast Beef, Slaw, Tomato & Cheese Sandwich and Fries, swept out the garage and moved the Jeep inside to avoid it getting covered with Oak Leaf bloom/pollen, which can stain the paint. I got-up at 6:15am on Wednesday, to a much cooler, cloudy 51°F morning, grabbed the aspirin, had OJ and coffee and checked the news, weather and email. Damn, I missed the whole Amtrak crash story last night, while watching some History Channel shows. The computer's CPU Meter went nuts as MS-Patch Wednesday downloaded 19 patches/fixes (HUGE download) into Win-7 Pro x64 at 7am, and restarted. The cleaning ladies arrived at 8:30. I had Ben's original and revised landscape and maintenance proposals in-hand, and needed to go over them with Dad, but first I left for WEIS Market, in East York, to get some things. It took an hour to get thru the newly-remodeled store, and by 10:30 I was at Dad's house, planted a new Johnson's Blue Geranium to replaced the transplanted unit which didn't make it. His newly-blacktop-sealed driveway looked great. We reviewed the 2 proposals and I'll try to get a quick meeting w/ Ben to get the changes finalized and Dad on his company's schedule for those projects. Gas and diesel prices at the pump, are down 10¢, since Monday, May 11th: Unleaded Regular (87 oct) is now at $2.69/gal, Unleaded Premium (89oct) is at $2.79/gal, Premium (93 oct) is $2.99/gal, with Diesel Fuel/Kerosene K-2 also dropping to $3.39/gal. On the way home, I made 2 more stops at the bank and gas station, and got home around 1pm. There was weeding to do in my condo's front garden, sweep out the garage's accumulating inflorescence blooms from the front yard's Oak tree, and open-up the place to get some cool, fresh air. I got the mail, streamed some Vivaldi on the computer, and worked on paperwork for the next couple of hours. There was a ***FROST WARNING*** posted for tonite and the next several nights, which is unusual for this late in the season. By 6pm, I put the paperwork aside until tomorrow, watched the day's news reports and saw that
Thursday morning was nippy at 39°F, but sunny. I was up at 6am, knowing I had a mid-morning Dr's app't, made juice and coffee, had toast and checked the news. I also remembered Wellspan's policy about "weapons" on any of the campuses (or is it campii?) and decided to take the Kimber .45 along, but lock it in the Jeep until I came out from the app't; then wear it. The weather forecast was for 2-3 beautiful days/cool nights, and then t-storms moving-in over the latter part of the weekend and early part of next week. I left at 9:45 and picked-up I-83 South to Shrewsbury. After the 10:30 app't, I drove south to the Rite Aid Store in Stewartstown to pick-up a waiting Rx I'd been robo-called about a few days ago, and then north to East York. What a beautiful day. By 2:30pm, I'd made a Pit Beef Sandwich & Fries, took a handful of aspirin, and remembered that UPS was delivering a package of 2 more cases of Canned Bacon from MRE Depot, so I had to stick around until 5 to sign for it. UPS arrived by 4:45, and I'd no more than hauled it inside to open, when the phone rang. "This is the IRS and you're in deep trouble..." A scam call that is causing problems for people nationwide. After a robo-call intro warning, I waited until the fake "IRS officer" got on the line and told him to GET F•CKED, YOU LOWLIFE PIECE-OF-PIGSHIT! And hung up. Felt good. I finished-up the small pile of paperwork, went out for a short walk, so as not to aggravate my back/hip/leg too much, took the garbage to the curb, and came back in at 6:30. For the rest of the evening, I watched some History and Discovery Channels' shows, the evening news, and called it a night at 12:30am.
Friday starts a new week here in the "Journal", and although there are a lot of projects' fragments floating around, nothing's cast in concrete, yet. That'll change real fast.
Conundrum.
The very definition of the word conundrum is "something that is puzzling or confusing". Here are six conundrums today, in the US:
1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.
2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.
3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.
4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.
5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.
6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.
Think about it. That pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st century. Kind of makes you wonder who is doing the math.
These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:
1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works. And here's another one worth considering...
2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't. Think about it. And last but not least...
3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to all illegal aliens?

Obama: "Entrepreneurs Don't Build Businesses"
"Last week, President Barack Obama delivered some telling remarks to a fire station full of people in Roanoke, Virginia. I'll save you the trouble of reading the (long and uninspired) speech and provide you with the most interesting part:
"If you've got a business – you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen." – President Barack Obama, July 13th, 2012.
It would be easy to respond with something along the lines of, "Somebody else made that happen? Who? Who magically imagined the product or service, started the business, built it up, and created the jobs? Who was it? The tooth fairy?" And to some extent, President Obama's statement is so ridiculous as to merit that sort of quick, flippant response.

However, he's not entirely wrong. This reminds me of an argument that Massachusetts Senate Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren would probably make. If he's talking about a mid-sized or large business, where an entrepreneur has hired additional employees, then at that point the business's success isn't purely that of its founder.
Employees add value to a business through work and ideas. That's why you hire employees, after all. Steve Jobs didn't invent every last detail of the phones, computers, and tablets to come out of Apple over the last decade. There were engineers working on those products who developed them. So, employees help entrepreneurs to build their business. "Somebody else" did indeed play a part in making that happen.
But what makes the president's remarks so inane is the totality of what he's saying. He's not saying that entrepreneurs and employees work together to build a business. It's not a collaborative effort. It's all thanks to the employees. Usually, I can understand the way the president's mind works on most issues by examining it through a pragmatic, liberal, or progressive framework. This one baffles me.
As I explained, I can see that he has some of a point, but he's still just obviously wrong on the broader point. Sure, the employees help to build the business, but the business itself wouldn't exist without the entrepreneur. So, to say to entrepreneurs and to business owners, "...you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen," is just wrong. It's silly. They did build that by setting the foundation for the business.
Entrepreneurs are almost always the hardest workers in their business. They work a simply insane number of hours to get their idea off the ground. If they succeed (and they face a tremendous risk if they don't), then they'll start to grow and to hire employees to help. Honestly, if I were an entrepreneur and I read those remarks by the president, I would be furious. It's a tremendous insult to the true job-creators in America, entrepreneurs.
In the context of a long, somewhat rambling campaign speech that touched on every issue under the sun, it may seem as though I'm over-exaggerating the importance of a minor thing he said. But President Obama isn't a stupid man, or even one who makes off-the-cuff remarks he doesn't really mean. He's a very smart man, and he meant what he said.
When the most important issues for most Americans are economic growth and job creation, I believe it's essential to know exactly where both candidates stand on the importance of entrepreneurs.
