as you may know from reading this weekly "Journal" over the years, and clicking on the playable links at the top of each week's main page, I love Classical Music, along with Jazz, 50s-60s (and some very, very selected 70s Rock 'n Roll; most of everything since is pure, unadulterated dogshit, IMO), while the venerale Antonio Vivaldi, the newly-discovered Alessandro Striggio and the better-known-than-Striggio, Thomas Tallis, remain among my all-time favorite composers and music authors. Oh sure, Bach, Beethoven and dozens of others are also favorites, but the above three are topping "my all-time favorites list".

There's no need to go into the scores of other composers and music authors here, but suffice it to say, "that list" is considerable, comprehensive with many being quite obscure to the everyday classical listener. I take great solace and refuge in their extensive works, which relaxes me and relieves me of having to dwell upon the all-too-often "inane bullshit, racist, idiotic and misogynist lyrics" of modern day so-called "musicians", and I use that term very, very loosely in reference to them and their crappy noise. That's really what it is: noise still looking for a category to fit into.

It's 4:45am on Saturday morning, and I have "Spem In Alium" by Thomas Tallis playing on my super-fast HP's v5.1 Surround Sound System. Nice. It's either one of Vivaldi's many works, Striggio or Tallis, every morning; seems it's the only way I can "cope" with what's ahead for the day's awful noise and unneeded hectic activity, IMO.

Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" remains my all-time favorite; no question about it. That's why Spring and Summer t-storms and rain, Fall leaf changes and Winter snows ring so true to what he composed. His music Concertos so closely-parallel the actual weather, it's very prescient and sometimes freakish. I relish his compositions and revel in music. I truly have a difficult time saying that about any other composers, other than Striggio and Tallis.

Thursday wasn't much of a "day off" for me; just too many things to do, places to go and with one phone call to Dad at the Complex, a veritable shitload boatload of "stuff" waiting on my desk for my early morning attention and action. The short nap on Thursday afternoon felt great, and a doctor-prescribed Rx Lunesta 1mg helped me get to sleep later that evening. I watched the 7pm "Iron Chef America" (Flay v Lang in "Battle Chicken") on Food-TV CATV Network, and uploaded numerous Corporate Website pages and the current "Journal" to my server, simultaneously. Piece of cake. And yes, another "Iron Chef America (Cora vs. Phan in "Battle Almond"), at 8pm. Want to Cook Like An Iron Chef? Here's how. I have "my own techniques", but found the recipes and videos very interesting and gave me a few new ideas. Because of "what unknowns were waiting for me on my desk" on Friday morning, I decided to call it an early night at just after 9pm. Murphy got his last drink from the kitchen faucet for the night, and we were asleep by 9:30.

The new pillows I bought on Thursday at Sears gave me some of the best sleep I've had in days/weeks/month/years, and I felt great when 5am rolled around. I fed and watered Murphy, made an Maple-Oatmeal breakfast and fresh-brewed coffee, and bagged-up (4 of 'em!) all the various foods for the Office 'fridge I'd gotten yesterday on my shopping trip to Weis Market, in East York. After getting to the GC&N Complex at 7am, I quickly took care of the small "pile of crap" on my desk from yesterday, and got on to more important things: Estimates for both Landscape Jobs & Landscape Maintenance Jobs. Rich had sent me a pile of them yesterday, and I downloaded/stored them on to my Cruzer Micro 8Gb FlashDrive, and brought them into work for downloading into the appropriate folders on my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-570t series unit HD.

Reason #1 why I conceal carry my Kimber 1911 "Eclipse Target II" .45cal ACP, in a Galco FED Holster for my full-size 5" Kimber .45cal and aGalco Extra Mag Carrier for my Kimber .45cal ACP. No subhuman, murderous muslim-islamic garbage, trash-filth is going to f•ck with me! And here's another reason why I carry concealed, can draw lightening fast and shoot the murderous subhuman garbage, first.

Friday, the 13th? Are you superstitious?

After getting back from my 8pm Church Meeting at around 9:45pm, I decided to check the NWS May weather monthly forecast, which didn't look good: t-storms and rain coming for the next 7-10 days, on and off, which would put a serious "dent" into my scheduled LSCP & LSCP Maintenance Jobs. Nothing I can do about it except re-schedule them. "Mother Nature's In Charge; We're Just Along For The Ride".

Not having to get into work on Saturday until 8am, I reset my alarm for an extra ½ hour of sleep, and Murphy and I headed upstairs at 10:30pm. I decided to go to "The Cabin" this Thursday, my only day off, since I didn't go last week. Time for "la-la land" right now, though.

So much for the extra half hour of sleep, as Murphy had me up at 4:10am to feed and water him, and once I was up and moving around, with some cold water splashed in my face just for good measure, I made my breakfast of Eggs Benedict, fresh-ground/brewed French Roast (Turkish Grind) coffee in my Chemex Coffeemaker and a tall glass of OJ. It had stormed north of us during the night we were still dry, yet there was a light drizzle coming down, just enough to make it miserable outside. It looked to be a semi-rainy day, so I broke-out the raingear from the Jeep, since I didn't want to be wet and cold all Saturday at work. It was 60°F at 4:20am when I checked the NWS weather outside, and the day's forecast called for intermittent t-storms and rain, so it might be a "short day", weather not permitting. Tomorrow, Sunday, looked even worse for rain activity. I gave Murphy an extra can of Fancy Feast® food for the day, filled his Purina Cat Chow®dry food and water bowls, and left for the Complex in the dark. (Have I mentioned before that I really hate driving in the dark?)

I had a long "list of things" to get done around the Complex, plus several customers were scheduled to come by and pick-up their container trees: several (Elm-beetle genetically-resistant, Ulmus Americana species saplings in 30gal), two of which I'd donated to the JCC (Jewish Community Center), in York. To date, I've donated over 600 seedlings and saplings in just over 10 years to residents in York (PA), Lancaster (PA), Baltimore (MD) & Harford (MD) Counties as "My Legacy" in getting the genetically-resistant (to the Asian Elm Beetle, NOT the Dutch-European Elm Beetle Disease) American Elm back into circulation in this Mid-Atlantic Region. I have three 6-7ft trees and 8-10 seedlings remaining from the grnrtically-resistant "Mother Elm", which was hit by lightening and died 2 years ago, at a customer's home in Felton (PA). Those are going on to my 20-acre property. No more "giveaways" in the future for them.

After getting home at6pm and taking care of Murphy's food/ water needs, and my own dinner, I watched Saturday's Food-Network CATV's "meager offerings": "Restaurant Impossible" – atually a darned good show! – from 8-9pm, 9-10pm & 10-11pm. I didn't stay-up for the 3rd show and since I didn't have to be into work until 11am, I planned to sleep a "little later" (than yesterday's 4:20am), so I hit the sack at 10pm. Murphy followed me upstairs to bed.

I was up Sunday morning, at Murphy's "urging", by 7:30am, took care of his water and food needs, and made my own breakfast of coffee. Norton/ Symmantec had a boatload of new v5.0 downloads to install and that took 20 minutes, plus a restart, just as I had all my needed morning apps open and was going through email and checking weather forecasts. After the restart, the Norton Gadget on my sidescreen filled-up with all kinds of new option butons and I'll try some of them out after work, this evening/ afternoon at around 5pm. It'll probably happen at my Office machine too, since I have the same Norton 360 v4 there, as well. Ditto, the front counter machines. Looks like I'll be screwing with 3 more computers today, in addition to helping customers with their selections and purchases. It already looked like a lousy day and week ahead, with rain and t-storms most of the time, according to NWS. That's going to put us back 1-2 weeks if the rain is substantial and I'll have to reschedule all the already-scheduled jobs. Shit. Crap.

Sunday was a bleak and drearly day with oppressive 98% humidity, drizzle and 61°F by 7:30am, so I knew it was going to be uncomfortable out there in the Nursery, with customers. Jon was off today, so I'd be doing all the lefting and loading myself, both physically and on the machines. I hung-out at the condo, and did some more "chores" since I didn't have to be at work until 11am. I'll grab a shower after work tonite, since I'll be all sweated-up and dirty from the day's activity. Dad can't do this kind of physical work or activity anymore, now being 87 and with his "new medical problems"; I have to *do it all on Sundays*, and even more on weekdays when the LSCP Crew is off-site on scheduled jobs. None of my guys wants to earn the extra money by working Sundays, and I can't blame them; neither do I. One day off a week just isn't enough for me anymore.

I'm up from 160-162 lbs to 170 lbs and trying to get back into the 175-180 lb range, my "normal weight". I just felt too drained and weak at 160-162 to stay there and keep losing weight, no matter what any damned doctor prescribes. So I'm eating slightly larger, healthy meals and light-snacking in the evenings to try to put some weight back on, to feel and look better. My frame isn't built for that low of a weight; 175-180 is my "fighting weight" and I'll soon get there and stay there with what I know now and have learned about food portions and other nutrient intakes, over the past 4 months.

I closed on Sunday at 3:30pm, since retail traffic had slowed, and we were all weary from working 6-days-a-week. At 7:20pm, I got a call from Dad, requesting me to take him to the York Hospital ER, as his pulse was down to 39bps, and his BP was at 174/39, dangerously high/low. I immediately dressed and hit almost every green light on Rt 30 W to Mom & Dad's, and rushed him to the ER, where a team of 3 doctors and 5 interns – the smallish room was full so I moved outside the curtained-off area to listen-in – did all kinds of tests, concluding he has "congestive heart failure" and needs a pacemaker installed in early Tuesday morning surgery. I stayed with him in the ER, re-packed his clothes bag since he was now undressed and in a hospital gown on a gurney, was hooked-up to O2, monitors, had had chest x-rays and a battery of blood tests done. I finally left around 9:55pm, just before the heart surgeon arrived and came home, after calling Mom and Becky with the "news". He won't be into work all week, so I'll fill-in for him; no problem. I'll have to do a little schedule-rearranging, but that's easily doable with Steffi and Kim. He's just turned 87 and "things are wearing-out", I'm told. More to come after Monday's surgery. He's in the best of care, right now.

On Tuesday morning, at 5:00am Murphy and my alarm clock woke me up. NWS' Forecast wasn't good – rain, t-storms and showers almost all week – so I knew we'd "lost" most of this week's work, except the "light stuff". Dad called from the York Hospital at 5:15am, and gave me his room and phone number in the CCU (Cardiac Care Unit), in The Tower Wing at the hospital. He had surgery for a pacemaker scheduled for installation, later that morning. I watered and fed Murphy, made my breakfast and coffee, and hurried into work to meet with my Key Staff to let them know what had and was happening.

It rained and stormed on-and-off all day, but the LSCP Crew kept working through it all on a medium job in Shrewsbury, and would finish-up on Tuesday. If it rained and poured as forecasted, I'd shut it all down and go home to sleep. But first, I had to take some "incidentals" out to Yorj Hospital to Dad, since he'd be staying another 1-2 days, and then go back down to the Complex, with Alan and Kim "holding down the fort", until I get back from the hospital.

7:10pm on Monday evening and it's pouring outside, which effectively ruins our pe-scheduled heavy-equipment installations for Friday, as our 2¾ and 3-ton machines would destroy a customer's lawn, especially with transporting a 1+ ton tree on it. I'll have to reschedue those installs when the ground is dried-out and hard again to accommodate all that weight. I' exhausted today even after drinking 11 mugs of coffee – that's 10 more than I usually have – but I just can't seem to stay awake and alert. Crashing earlier than 9:30pm will get me up at 3:30-4:00am, and make my exhaustion even worse yomorrow, so I'll tough it out until 10pm. Maybe some TV might help me wake-up? I'll see what's on tonight.

Food-CATV Network's "Iron Chef" (Flay v Rios in "Battle Tomato" was on from 7-8pm. I couldn't stay-up any longer and went to sleep at 8:30pm, determined to sleep until 5am, when the alarm goes off. We'll see.

I made it until 5am, took care of Murphy, made breakfast and coffee and drove to work in the pouring rain. Alan had already sent everyone except Kim home, whom I had do some special work for me in GH-1, while I drove to Mom's, picked-up the additional, clean clothes which Dad needed for his continued stay, and drove to the York Hospital, by 10am. He's doing just fine with the new pacemaker and it needs some "adjustments and fine-tuning", so they'll do that today and he'll be coming home on Wednesday. I went back to the Complex, sent Kim home, locked and armed the buildings, and drove back to my condo to take a nap. Now, all my detailed weekly schedules for the next 5-6 weeks will have to be re-arranged, due to the wet weather, but we'll work around the larger jobs and get the smaller ones done not requiring heavy machinery, done first. I nade 3 calls to alert this week's customers to the weather-forced schedule change, and they understood and complied.

Looks like I won't be going to "The Cabin" this week, afterall. There's just no way, with Dad out recuperating for the next 1-2 weeks, that I'll even get a single day off, let alone take any "trips up north". Add my Friday evening Church meetings to that mix, and I'll be a "walking zombie", pretty quickly. I'm going to need a *big bag of meth* (just kidding, folks!) to get through it all. More sleep would and better office-time management would definitely help. Just too damned many interruptions while I'm at the office and trying to get things done.

We had nearly 2¼" of rain at the Complex of Tuesday alone, with a number of low-lying sidestreets blocked-off due to being 1-2ft underwater. Resident had to park their vehicles in the dry areas, and wade to their homes with groceries etc, A few tried to drive through the water and got stuck, with a $500 police fine and additional tow-truck fees "bestowed" upon them for doing something that stupid and idiotic. Serves them right; no sympathy from me.

I did some computer Website work and laid down on the king-sized, LR sofa with Murphy, turned-on the gas log fire to take the chill and dampness off the condo and slept for 3-4 hours. Just what I needed.

I called Dad and said he might be coming home late this afternoon or early evening, so I had to prepare to go pick him up at York Hospital and drive him to Mom's house, if he calls. It's going on 4pm now, and I'm "somewhat rested", aka "groggy", from the nap, and I sure don't feel like driving in the local "rush hour" traffic. But it is what it will be, and I'm ready for it, if need be. I'm sure he wants out of that place; I despise hospitals: sick and dying people all over the place and foul smells emanating from various rooms though the staff does their best to keep it spotless and odor-free, some "patients" are just filth and garbage and should be allowed to die. And now I do need to be ready; he just called at 3:45pm and said he was being discharged after 5:30pm dinner. I picked him up at York Hospital's Patient Discharge Exit, took him home to Mom, nd all is fine. He just has a slew of doctors' appointments to go to now, and will be out-of-work for 1-2 weeks. No days of for me.

I was home by 7pm to watch Food-CATV Network's "Iron Chef" (Cora v Oringer in "Battle Coffee". The at 8pm, I watched Episode 11 of FX-TV's "Justified", which normally airs on Wednesday nights, and which I'd missed along with Episode 12. I saw the final Episode 13 of the season. Soon, enough, Season 2's DVR will be out and I'll buy it, just as I did with Season 1's, to re-watch. I was tired from running back and forth to the York Hospital all day, ut was glad thaht Dad was doing so much better and finally home. I was asleep by 9:30pm.

The pounding rain on my 4 condo skylights woke me at 3am, and I looked outside to see the streets flooded with flowing water up over the curbs and coming up my lawn toward the building. Nothing I could do so I went back to sleep. My alawm went off at 5am and I watered and fed Murphy, made breakfast and coffee, and had a look out the front door. Thr trail of leaf debris was mere feet from my front porch, so I knew we'd gotten a real "trash can mover", overnight. After getting into work, I knew there'd be a shitload boatload of phone messages on the answering machine, to return, and I was right. I finished those up after 8am, rescheduled some appointments for today, and continued working on a massive 8-phase LSCP Plan which Rich had given me a few weeks ago. There were so many "mistakes" in the computer inventory he used, that Steffi and I had to spend hours of valuable time fixing it, so it made some sense. I email it off to him, uncorrected on the spewadsheet but fixed on the customer's hard copy file, so he'd have at least something to show them with the elaborate plan he'd designed.

My LCP Crew finished their 1½-day job over in Shrewsbury, and as it was raining so hard, I had Alan send them home at 1:30pm, and opted to close-down at 2pm. I stopped at Weis Market in East York, and picked-up a load of things for my famous "3-Alarm Chili": sweet onions, Cippolini Onions, baby carrots, celery, sweet green peppers, tomato sauce and tomato paste, pimentos, chili powder, corn, Salsa "Hot" Serrano, 3lb of lean ground beef (80%), mushrooms, garlic paste, flame-roasted red/yellow/orange peppers, light kidney beans and Cilantro tops. I broke it all into 4 "Glad" 3g containerd for Mom & Dad, me and the office's Key Staff. It's cooling on the dining room table now in those containers, and I'll be taking them to work on Thursday, my non-day-off, now.

Rich stopped by with another couple of LSCP Design Plans – as if I don't have enough to work on right now – so I'll get to them when I can after the others, as they go on the bottom of the growing "pile". I'm getting farther and farther behind on LSWCP Estimates and Landscape Maintenance Estimates, which are coming-in by the scores each week. I could use some help, or peace and quiet, to get them done and back to Rich, for presentation to the customers.

More rain is coming for the rest of the week, although the weekend looks clear, according to NWS. Perhaps we'll get caught-up on all the work thus far delayed by the 3-3Æ" rains just since Saturday? By 9:15pm, I was exhausted and headed for "la-la-land" with Murphy traily closely-behind me. 5am would come way too early on my non-day-off, and I had many, many more days of 7-day-a-week ahead of me. I'd be ready for a "vacation" (ha!) after this all ended.

Without phone and customer "interruptions" on Thursday, I got 3 large LSCP Estimates completed and email to Rich, for presnetation with his desig plans, and started work on another 2. I'm still waiting for 3-4 of his "lscp plant lists", so I can get those started and completed, too. I have a half-zillion sites to visit and numerous on-site meetings for Friday and all next week, so I'm preparing for those as well. Plus, I've got to gather-up timesheets, enployees' folders and the mail, and run it over to Dad tonight, so he can get the frigging paychecks out on Friday morning, so I can run back over there at 6:30am and pick them up to have ready for the 6 employees for Friday at 12noon. Of course, I don't get a paycheck, again. Did I mention that I only took 3 monthly paychecks out of 12 months in 2009 and 2010? That's below the federal minimum poverty level, for 1 person, and I'm the f•cking owner here! First comes the employees, then the vendors/suppliers, next the myriad of taxes, utilities and misc sh•t, and then very last, me, if there's anything left, which there usually isn't after paying all those damned bills.

Jeez, at 1:30pm, it's really pouring outside, and another 2 days of future landscape work ruined because of muddy work sites and soft, mushy lawns. STOP RAINING, dammit! I packed it in at 4pm and went home. I'd had enough for the day and week. Dad decided to come into the Complex to do the paycheck on (the shitty) QuickBooks v10, and then leave to back home. I argued against it but he prevailed.
