My Stetson is retired and a well-worn and somewhat tattered straw hat becomes de rigeur for the foreseeable future, or at least until the cool weather of Fall appears. Sweating up the Indiana Jones-type headgear isn't a good idea; stains are tough to get out. Besides, it's my favorite brim for much of the year and soiling it isn't an option. Wow, well-worn and tattered is right. Time to get another; two if they're on sale.

Well, we started to dry-out from all the rain last Friday, but a massive storm from the southwest drove through on Saturday and dumped over 2" on us, again. Another one's forming on the Left Coast, another one's looming in the Midwest, and it portends to be a rainy month. So wet, in fact, the 140th Gettysburg Anniversary Battle Reenactment has been rescheduled; too wet.
Over 5,500 Street Rods descended upon York, PA, last week for their annual show and parade. I'm "in love" with a '32 Deuce Coupe (scroll down halfway...) I saw there two years ago, priced at $36,500. *Sigh* But, the GC&N "needs new shoes", and it always comes first. I've grown accustomed to doing without; have to, when you own your own business. FYI.
Hmmmm, I've never seen a sign on the door of any Penna business that tells patrons whether firearms are permitted inside. I carry concealed, wherever I go, except into gov't buildings, courthouses and schools. And I don't go to any of those places very much, either. Wow, what are the odds that two old past girlfriends would call me up, after 33 and 36 years, in the same year. Cheryl, whom I knew in '69-'70 (33yrs) and Judy, whom I knew in '67-'68 (36yrs), both contacted me recently and we've spent some time "catching up".
