Something funny weird's been happening, at my condo, for the past several months, and I just discovered it: my Bic® lighters have been disappearing at an alarming rate. In the evenings, I sit at the kitchen's round butcherblock table, where my cable modem-connected, super-fast P3 resides, and do website or other html work, or just surf, and sip some of the finest cabernets, dine on filet mignon, porterhouse or pasta dishes. Occasionally, later in the evening, before retiring, I'll nod off. When I awake in a short while, I notice my Marlboro™'s are on the floor, but the lighter is AWOL. Last Saturday night, I awoke to find Murphy, one of my condo cats, chasing and batting my Bic® lighter across the floor, and under the gas stove. I found a flashlight, laid down on the floor, and saw lots of lighters, plus other stuff, under the 1" space. After finding a coathanger and forming it into a hook, I retrieved 14 lighters, 3 packs of matches, 9 wine corks, 5 ballpoint pens, a pencil, a floppy disk, 2 screws, 2 nuts, 1 moly bolt, and a partridge in a pear tree. 'Nuff of that.
